I'm in the aoudad camp. I think you can see a reflection of the creature's right eye on the side of his face just below his ear. If it was a cat the eye would be more towards the front of his face.

I'll tell you what, If that's a cougar, then it's got to be the biggest ever.

Take a look at the deer at the feeder and then the "what some are calling a cougar in the original". If that's a cat, it stands taller than the buck.

Do us a favor. If there is a way, overlay these two photos on each other, using the feeder as the reference point, to show the difference in height from the animal and the two deer.

Looking back at both pics, the "cougar" is actually under the feeder, so you can see that what ever this animal is, it's taller and much larger than the buck in the daylight photo.

I still don't think it's a cougar.

Doc...I did that with the stuff that was posted. In doing so the mystery visitor(not an Aoudad) was actually slightly smaller than the next mornings small buck. I think if you look at some published ranges of 36-41" at the shoulder for a whitetail, 29-43" for an aoudad and 25-30" for a mountain lion it really puts everything in the ball park. The height to the top of the spinner would be nice to know.

Deerhunter...an aoudad's eyes are on plane with his ears...unlike a Mt lion which are below his ears.

I have seen multiple mountain lions in the wild and bu ku Aoudad......I'd guess the OP will get a picture of an aoudad before he gets another mystery visitor. If he does I bet he or she will have horns that you can see.

i saved this picture, and was playing with the contrast and brightness on the microsoft office picture manager...

i think part of the problem is that the animal was moving while the pic was taken, bc with a higher contrast and brightness, you can definitely see a doubling affect going on...

I have had auodad on several occasions and if you know how to operate a grill, they are just like eating cabrito. That second pic is a ewe, she should gril up really nice.
