Probably a northwestern garter snake based on what's left of color and pattern, but not 100% on that. Interested to see what 12f thinks....

I almost added that it could be some kind of garter, but I am not very familiar with the different species at all.

Spooked my first ever coach whip in new braunfels while mowing. Hopped off to try and grab him but he was FAST. Made it around the corner of my house and disappeared .


Until I saw his head peeking out while I was weed eating. Stood there frozen for 20 minutes seeing if he would come out . He flushed himself up against the lip of the flashing . Left after awhile. Wish I could have snagged him but man can they move

Well I guess he spent the night under cover from the rain. Watched him slowly appear this morning and then make a dash for taller grass . Funny snake how they perch upright to survey the area .

Collies cornered another DBWS in the yard. They think it's ornery nature is highly entertaining so it sort of backfires compared to the flee and hide defense.

Wife came screaming in to the house that there was a snake in one of our hen lay boxes last night but by the time I got out there it was gone.

Saw a water snake this am in a drainage ditch. Kids were catching little perch in it that washed in from the neighbors pond and we found a big ole shed.

That's cool! Pretty sure that's a patch nose snake but I've never seen one in the wild myself.

Definitely some type of spiny lizard. Unsure of which one really. Crevice is as good as guess as any. Maybe 12f can shed some light.

Nope. Wife left the water on ALL NIGHT LONG.
