I believe this is the only mention of "silencer" in the bill that was passed but I'm not learned on finding the passed version. The below came from this

I don't see any mention of the NFA at all, but again my search skills may be less than perfect. Not seeing where it was removed from NFA, only tax reduction.
As I understand it, weapons under section 5845(3) are those "any other weapon" greater than 12" but less than 18" in length, etc., etc., etc. Is that not SBRs? If so, looks like SBRs tax stamps just got a whole lot cheaper.
Bill tax reduction section:SEC. 112030. REDUCTION OF EXCISE TAX ON FIREARMS SILENCERS.
(a) IN GENERAL.Section 5811(a) is amended to read as follows:
''(a) RATE.There shall be levied, collected, and paid on firearms transferred a tax at the rate of
''(1) $5 for each firearm transferred in the case of a weapon classified as any other weapon under section 5845(e),
''(2) $0 for each firearm transferred in the case of a silencer (as defined in section 5845(a)(7)), and
''(3) $200 for any other firearm transferred.''.
(b) EFFECTIVE DATE.The amendment made by this section shall apply to transfers after the date of the enactment of this Act.
