No deer yet. He stopped bleeding, we are just looking in the general area he was headed. It's not looking great. Still wouldn't do anything different.

Damn. I'm hoping for a happy ending, for multiple reasons, but one of those is so we can find out where that 2nd arrow hit him. I'm surprised it had blood from end to end and he still is up and running.

How many deer do they let you wound? I'm just surprised they don't have dogs for this issue. I guess no one cares. It just seems like taking a shot that far away on a large animal is nuts and I understand you can only get so close but damn man. I hope you find the original boy.

Dogs have to be on a leash here, it wouldn't have mattered… we wouldn't have caught up to him. Even off leash like in Texas I doubt they would have bayed him the way he was running. That buck will likely survive… if I had hit anything vital, even a single lung, it would have been fatal. First arrow basically gave him a haircut

Also I don't think I'd shoot that other deer anyway, he's in velvet and I wouldn't even be able to euro. We will look for my buck again tmrw
