Yes.....we plebes have to wait until the meeting to know what the meeinng is about......
If they are transparent and let people know the subject and do background digging on pros and cons before the meeting they might ask some questions that don't make our overlords feel like they are in complete control/charge.

If the county has a plan they should conduct a press conference so everyone can learn what they are thinking at the same time then they can conduct their town halls.

The selection of a location of a landfill is always a very contentious and politically charged affair. Nobody wants it in their backyard and it can take years to settle out.
So Peters does it by not telling anyone a landfill is even on a radar screen and holding the selection announcement on a Sunday at a small location with no prior notice of what is coming. Just a "show up and I'll tell you when you get there".
That's either genius or political suicide. Either way it's a novel approach.

Well, we're an hour into the meeting & no report? What the hell?
Someone mentioned the water, heard that a few years ago but it was related to doing something w/the Navasota River as I recall. There is a BMA(at least the 1 that I know) who owns property in that area. The talk was a lake/reservoir west of 6, SW of Millican/Wellborn/CS to help w/the growth in Brazos County.
But what do I know?

The report I just got from my Sister who was front and center and lives in Millican reserve.
She thought it was a good meeting and Peter's was working to keep a dump from coming to that county owned land.

I'm pretty sure that if the land is in CS ETJ the county can't prevent a landfill. Just ask the Grimes Co residents about that.

I don't like the government deciding to confiscate a person's land, like the high speed rail, but we sure need to built more reservoirs so that we can capture rainwater. Texas only has one natural lake.12thMan9 said:

Looking at the Navasota River and it's flood plain, I would think it would be easier to develop a reservoir on the east side of Hwy 6 just before it crosses six almost into the city of Navasota. Whereever it goes it would affect people and that should be kept to a minimum if at all possible.
