I ordered multiple items last night around 10:00pm and was surprised one of them was available by drone delivery by 9:00am today. It brought up an overhead picture of my house with a pin where it was planning to deliver. At 8:01am I got a notification that it was "Out for delivery, expected by 8:09am". I went out front and sure enough here it came....hovered over my house, and then departed after about 30 seconds with no delivery. I immediately got a notification from the Amazon app that they ran into an issue and had to abort. And just a few minutes ago it now says it is coming by driver today.

I suspect the space it picked was not big enough. It was a little breezy, and I do have powerlines nearby so I'm guessing it aborted for those reasons. I do have a big area in my back yard though, does anyone know how to tell Amazon to deliver there instead of the spot it picked out front?

Surprisingly, I live in Woodlake - past Castlegate and Sweetwater south of Wellborn. I was surprised their area had expanded to include us.

If it senses a person (or pet) anywhere near the landing area, it will abort the delivery.

Right now I'm ready for any delivery system to replace the USPS! For several Saturdays and Mondays the USPS decides to just forget to deliver mail!?

What happened to "Neither rain, heat nor hail shall keep the USPS from delivering the mail!"
I won't get specifically political here, but the USPS is the unfortunate pawn that has been sacrificed for the political chess match of the last 8 years. The post office was gutted, for reasons and was never fixed.
