Came in for the baseball game. Almost stayed at the Hilton conference center but thankfully stayed at the Embassy Suites which has a parking garage. Cars all around have major glass and body damage. Some pics that I took last night and this morning.

Just had my first telemarketer call from a roofing company I've never heard of.

I told him that he was pretty fast, it hasn't even been 8 hours since the storm. He said that is slow and didn't hang around to chat, which is fine with me.

They have software that pings when storms hit and it estimates hail size (ask me how I know... lol. That thing goes off on his phone at all hours). I've never heard of them cold calling though- that's weird. Scott will door knock if he has to, but it's usually just when he's on a roof, and he will contact the neighbors to see if they need anything while he is there.

I'm over by the Bryan Lowe's. We pulled the wife's car in the garage but my truck and my work truck took some damage. It sounded awful. We got a new roof in 2020 during the last big hailstorm. Definitely a lot more damage from the 2020 storm. Biggest I saw last night was slightly smaller than a golf ball.

I got up on the roof at first light and it didn't seem too bad. I was definitely expecting much worse. Gutter covers were dinged but none of the other hardware up there was and it was beat to crap on the last one. I may have a company come check it out but idk that I'll be filing a claim for the roof this time around.

Also, surprisingly haven't seen but one roofing company in the neighborhood and it was Schulte. My mom lives over by a poster on this thread but she hasn't had near the experience they're saying they did.

We had a roof guy we called this morning to look at ours near Green s Prairie and Wellborn and he said it was bad and the roof needs to be replaced. Insurance said they will send someone out and we will see what they say. We have black granules from our roof covering our patio and front porch. We only had one vehicle outside and we pulled it in as soon as we heard it. Already have roofing people walking the street.

what time did it hit? I sleep to storm sounds so I never heard a damn thing. no damage that I've noticed.

I replaced my roof 4 years ago after the last big hail storm. Fortunately I got hail resistant shingles installed. I'm in the middle of changing insurance because I recently realized my current insurance increased my deductible from .5% to 2% for hail damage late last year. My current insurance is higher than alternatives I looked at last year but I kept them because of the low deductible and the home plus auto bundle discount. The insurance I'm considering switching to for $2500 less for home and $1800 less for auto a year and offers a 1% deductible for hail damage. I hope this hail storm doesn't cause any issues for me trying to switch.

If you don't have any claims you won't have any issues. Sounds like you're getting a good deal.

One car got lots of dents, but no major damage trying to see if I can find reputable PDR for less than my $750 deductible.

Lopez roofing out of Bryan is very good. My dad was a GC out of Brenham and that is all he used on homes.

I got a referral for Lopez roofing today, but was told there are a couple lopez roofing

If the car is this bad, I am curious about my 5 year old roof.

I've used all three of those to inspect different roofs after storms and I only had a full replacement recommended one time. It was legit because of the roof age and the damage done.

Use a local companies with good BBB ratings and ignore the companies that stick illegal signs in the ground and you'll be fine.

Good companies. Scott with Stellar is awesome and is our go to. Replaced our roof several years ago. He has our business if needed again.

We didn't have roof damage, but lost about half of my tomato plants.

We had hail up to about the size of a golf ball. Saturday I had15 calls from out of town roofers wanting to take a look at my roof as they will be on my street today. When I asked them if I could meet at their local office to talk to them, most of them just gave up on me. I won't use a roofer that's not from the area.

A neighbor of mine had their brand new $100,000 Escalade basically totaled with a smashed windshield and hail pops all over the vehicle. They have a two car garage but left it out.
