Got our rental near Tanglewood Park inspected by 2 different companies. 1 said "it got beat up" while the other thinks it's a 50/50 chance insurance would replace it. We put a new one on in '21 with that storm.

On the fence but premium is about to go up 40% and another plan is cheaper but double the deductible. Might just get it replaced in this lower deductible

Worth a shot. Will depend on who your insurance company is, and if your contractor is willing to reinspect. And then if you are willing to go to PA or legal to fight if they deny. Can be lengthy.


I will say this- "it got beat up" without them showing you proof may be someone looking for a commission check on a sale. "It's 50/50" is someone being honest with you about the damage. Ask them how much damage they saw, on what slopes, and what other items they see damage on. Ask if they can show you- either with a photo or with you on your roof with them.

Appreciate the reply. The "it got beat up" guy sent me a single picture. The 50/50 guy is writing up a full report and providing an estimate.

Kerville just got 2.5" hail, so everyone that is having problems with fly by nighters, the situation should ease now. Those guys will be in kerville tomorrow.

He messaged me too, but I had a good conversation with him (rather than just blasting him on here). He was unaware he couldn't promote his business, but he is an Aggie and PA out of Houston, and seems like a nice guy.

Same here. Replacing architectural with Class 4. I was hoping my insurance company would discount my yearly premium for having them but they told me that they (Hochheim Prairie) no longer honors any discounts! Disappointing but like you I'm hoping they work as advertised.
