Belive it or there are people who don't care for dogs or are even allergic to dogs and those people should not have to be around dogs in places like restaurants and grocery stores or hardware stores.

Me personally… dog friendly usually means I'm not going there
This right here. I am deathly allergic to cats. I have close friends whose homes I never visit because they are cat owners. If a cat comes up to me I try to get away from it, shoo it away and at last resort kick it away from me. If someone brought a cat into a restaurant I would go ballistic on them. I imagine that there are people out there equally or more allergic to dogs, they go to restaurants having a reasonable expectation of not being exposed to dogs while there.

For me at least, it seems the humaniacs are more interested in bringing their dogs out with them than their cats, snakes or goldfish.

We were on the patio at The Station a few weeks ago with our dog and there was a couple there with a cat on a leash.

Sitting in Texas Roadhouse tonight when a lady walked in with a full size pink sweater wearing cocker spaniel and sat at the next booth over from us. After our meal On the way out manager asked if everything was OK, we said except for that cocker spaniel, the manager got perturbed and went to that table. Don't know what became of it but apparently BC Health dep only allows service animals per the manager. The manager told us TRH policy is service dogs are welcomed but all other pets are not allowed. She questioned the hostess station as to who seated a person with a dog.

Sorry was posting shorthand from the road while my wife was driving, edits to clarify are bolded
btw, I enjoy EE posts because of the "TexAgs unfiltered" vibes they usually have. Have to laugh at their policy "service dogs are welcomed" yeah, that's the law of the land, so good policy I guess.

Considering that not all disabilities are readily apparent, and that any breed of dog can be trained to be a service dog, and that service dogs have no required uniform, it seems within the realm of possibility that you simply dined near a disabled person using a service dog. Or it was her pet dog, and no one asked her about it, or she lied about it.

But I have a feeling that if it had been a more traditional type of service dog like a black lab acting as a guide dog for a blind person, you wouldn't have complained.

So my question is, if the dog didn't cause any problems or exhibit any bad behavior, and you don't have a problem with service dogs in the restaurant, and you don't have any evidence this particular dog was not a service dog, what is your complaint? How did this beloved, besweatered spaniel wrong you, sir?

Because if it wasn't a service dog, which I doubt it was, then this behavior begets more of the same. I/E if we don't start limiting or making people prove the actual validity somehow what are we to do, all of us bring our dogs to the restaurant? There has to be a stopping point.

I would have liked to take my pet Llama to the restaurants.

I hope you run into a grizzled vet with a rescue mountain lion on a leash and make a crack like that in their direction!

(JK I find your posts entertaining too!)
