I can't fathom Greggo crawling back to Galloway and Company (GAC). That bridge is burned down on both ends. I think he'll reinvent himself again and move on to something completely different.
Nothing in particular, just thinking of all the years of bitterness between the 2 camps. Plus it was a very ugly initial separation when Greggo left Grandpa Urine's show to join the Ticket. Recall the story Greggo always tells about how Galloway was asking him in '93 point blank if he knew who in the local media was going to join the new station, and Greggo had to lie about it and claim ignorance because he was trapped in Galloway's car with him driving.
Some sort of awkwardness talking about white elephant on Musers this morning with the "what are they going to do fire me?" exchange between junior and gordo and jub trying his best to change the subject.
At least two Russ Martin esque dead air moments as they didn't know where it was going.
Really, I've given up caring. I just want to move on. Other than Donovan nobody brings or brought less over the last 12 months.
none of the lineups really interest me too much. Corby has pretty much been a host the last couple months for 3-7. How will this be any different? Rhynes' 10-12 show could be good but I prefer to hear how he works with others than by himself.
The junior and gordo tickers interst me the most, i guess.
They're joking around so much about Greggo these days that I kind of have a hard time believing they're going to let him go... but at the same time, it looks more and more like that everyday. If Greggo's out, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hardline become Mike & Corby, with Danny on yucks and a new producer.
This morning, Junior directly called them out on not having an afternoon yuckmonkey. He also made some references to Cat firing Gordon. I've got to believe that they wouldn't be this hard on an old friend if they knew he wasn't coming back. Being forced out of The Ticket would probably be one of the hardest pills for Greggo to swallow. (No pun intended.) None of these guys seem like they'd rub salt in that wound.
I agree with Sterling. The entire time this morning that they were talking about Greggo, I kept thinking, "They wouldn't be making these kinds of jokes if he was really fired. That's not the Ticket way. " It is much more Ticketesque to pretend like someone never existed when they get fired.
3-7's gonna be greatness. I'd set the over/under on actual sports talk at about one hour, which is what will make it great. Gordo's tickers will be hilarious.
Honestly, the funniest thing about last year's -- I thought -- was Donovan's tickers.
Gordo said his tickers will persist of "Mavs won last night" and that's it. I can't wait for that and I also can't wait for Danny to have to wake up at 5am for his morning shift.
