grubes played a Norm drop earlier that had the name "Greggo" in it. Rhynes said "that needs to be edited" afterwards.

Were any of you Greggo bashers listening back in the mid 90's when the Rangers were good and the original Diamond Talk was around? This is a sad day for the Ticket. I think you can trace the demise of the Hardline to the demise of the Rangers over the last 7 years. It's been a slow painful journey into irrelevancy.

Do you remember when the ticket mouse talked about the pills Greggo dropped?

i was! i even went to the Rangers game in 1994 that the Hardline asked the listeners to do a fan "walkout" in response to the baseball strike that was looming. cant remember when it was in the game, but they had all P1's get up out of their chairs and leave the game and meet them at a bar nearby. there werent very many of us at that time!

I was a Greg fan -- not because of his sports knowledge but just the good ol' boy factor. But I totally understand Mike's stance. It gets old when you give people chance after chance after chance.

I, for one, hope K-Scott joins the show.

glad to hear some closure to it. at least mike saying greggo will not be back.

for those not listening...mike says corby is now the #2 guy now. mike says he's received a ton of email saying "too much corby."

corby says he hasnt been auditioning for the job.

mike says danny has stepped up and done well with more air time.

I feel really bad for Rhynes, Corbyand Danny. Obviously they have been put in a really tough situation and on top of that listeners feel that they deserve to know every single aspect of the situation, knowing they cannot talk about it.

he's not the #2 guy permanently, yet, but will be until the book is completely closed on Greggo. They will discuss their options and see where it takes them - they are definitely adding a member to the presentation - but have no idea where that will go. Sounds like they could just keep bumping people up to the point that they're only adding a board op. Could be they add a regular host. Who knows.

It was telling, and saddening, to not hear a lick of remorse in Mike's voice regarding the "good old days". He only spoke of the future and his frustration/anger with these most recent events. Not one nostalgic comment.

It was also implied that this was Greggo's 4th or 5th chance, and also implied that he was prone to pouting in a corner about his level of involvement or input.

Wow...the original Hardline is dead....I have listened since early on.

First - It was mentioned Corby is the #2 - I am OK with that, if ratings suffer there will be a change.

Second - Wow Rhyner impressed me - feed up with the situation and is excited about moving forward.

Third - Bringing in a new person - My vote would be Gorddo or Bob - it could be someone in the market that Rhyner has a relationship with. No one outside that would be too uncomfortable on the air.

I thought it was interesting when Mike was commenting on how some p1s felt that The Ticket was turning their back on Greggo and that they should have given him another chance, and he basically said he wished we could all hear the "back story" on all that's happened w/ Greggo in the past and "see who turned their back on who."

Yeah...very similar to folks I know who have a spouse with substance abuse problems. By the time everyone else knows about the problem, the sober spouse is way past the mourning period, much to the surprise of friends and family.Like Rhyner, they can come across as cold and uncaring when they've actually been through the wringer and have finally moved on emotionally.
