I appreciate that. That's platinum vs gold and a LOT more diamonds. So if you were to call that the max, that's $14k. I wanted to think this was super rare and highly valuable, I just think our "watch" bent on this thread values this more than it is in reality. Again, I could be wrong. I just think the coolness factor is probably worth more than what people are willing to pay.

Pocket watches with much more complicated systems only go for $5-6k.

I still think it is kickass and it took me down a rabbit hole I enjoyed tremendously, but the heirloom value is worth more than the $ value. I'd love someone to prove me wrong though.

No idea what that's worth, but I would absolutely reach out to Patek, share the story and the pictures, and see what they say about any history they may have or service they could provide if you wanted it running.

Regardless of ever wearing it, that original box and papers are awesome and truly special.

Honestly, not sure what the market value is on the watch. I've put feelers out before and did not get the impression that there was much of a market for it, but I could be wrong. I wore this watch daily for eighteen years and it has performed fantastically. I got good use out of it but I'm content to move on from it now.

Honestly, I'm going with an exotic Apple Watch. Nothing fancy at all. I don't see a lot of value in just hanging on to stuff if I'm not going to use it. Lord knows I have a gun safe filled with stuff I'm not shooting so I'm trying to be better about getting rid of things that others might use more frequently than me.

I typically wear brown shoes/boots and belt everyday, so I ordered a brown strap from GO for my Senator Hand Date. What arrived is much glossier than what they showed me in the catalogue photos. I thought it would be more matte and comparable to the black version that came with the watch. I hate wasting money but I'm thinking about just switching back to black. Thoughts?

It's alligator flank. The photo from GO below showed it to be more of a consistent brown without the black accents around the scales.



I'm planning to wear it a while longer, thinking it might grow on me. I also hope it looks better as the gloss fades (as noted by other posters).
