Why are people getting tested?

If people are sick, they should be at home. Not out sitting in their car waiting on a covid test.

What is the point of getting tested, and why are people doing it?

Because they have to in order to: return to work, return to school, travel, events, day care etc... And there is some degree of not exposing elderly to a potential case, but if you're asymptomatic, then there's really no reason to get tested.

Haha. I love Preslee's. It is definitely my neighborhood spot. Was just there yesterday. They've been one of the few sane greater Heightsish places thru this whole ordeal.

Ventured out to the real world today after having only god knows what this past week.

Went to BB&B on Kirby to get a new toaster oven. Everyone in the store has on masks except us and one other young black couple.

Many death eye daggers hurled our way.

They beta male that checked us out had body language like we carried The Plague in with us. The gift card mania to pay for it made his life even more miserable.

I walked out with quite the grin on my face.

I get the travel deal but the work and school part is what is stupid.

If kids or my family is sick they stay home (that specific person) until they aren't anymore then return to normal life. Like the old times. Not sure what nazi rules your work or schools go by but they can't say you had covid if you never go get tested. Did you go get a negative flu test in years pst to return your kids to school or to give yourself ease of mind before visiting people somewhere? On that note your whole family could be asymptotic with the virus while you go to work/school and not know it spreading it at the same time. The whole negative test to give yourself and others permission to return to normal is garbage.

That's my biggest deal with all this, it's not like if you go get tested because you have a headache or the sniffles the doctor gives you magic covid pills to get rid of it.

Yeah I have friends in from West Texas for weekend. And we have been running around town, sans mask of course, and they have been shocked at how we are almost the only ones without a mask anywhere we go. They are like, this is a whoooooole different world than Midland.. haha.

We were at Preslee's yesterday. I think the food is above average. Their outdoor seating is good. Its nice to know they're also based. I'll go there more now that I know they aren't liberal loonies.

Friend has to get tested every Wednesday morning and gets the results emailed to her on Friday.

She was at my wife's Christmas party Wednesday and found out this morning she's positive.

She's hosting a NYE party tonight. She's not sick. Party is still on. Nobody cares.

it did say that yesterday. Was there with some friends last night and saw the manager changing it before we left. He said he was already getting sh t for it during the day. I got a chuckle out of it when we got there. Here's what they changed it to around 9 last night.

As a business decision that is pretty stupid.
