Fox News national just did a segment with Leon Coffee and the new barrelman. The stage was still in the arena in the background being worked on.

From what I read and heard, there was some type of fuse box under the stage that caught fire, so here are a couple of theories:

1. Journey's sound check was played at a max volume and fried the box

2. The rats that have taken over the Dome have spilled over to NRG and found a home under the stage

Honestly probably something worked loose due the stage being fully mobile, or a failure in one of the rotating contacts.

The stage is owned by HLSR so that would be like cutting the brake lines on your truck because you have a warranty issue with your kids car.

Chron says "Journey offered to play tonight, but Rodeo turned them down." It's not quite that simple. Rodeo has Warren Zeiders booked today and how would you have Journey ticket holders come today? Not possible, but nice of Journey to offer.

It's their stage, but it's tied into NRG equipment. Rumor was it wasn't the rodeo's equipped that failed.

I have 4 tickets to old dominion. Pair in section 122 and a pair in section 331 (club Level). $50 per ticket.

Was it a freak accident, negligence in operation, or something else? Freak accident is the least likely explanation IMO.

Just because it was the first occurrence doesn't mean that no one is at fault due to a manufacturing defect or operational negligence. Also the fact that there hasn't been any communication around refunds leads me to believe there is a dispute as to who is responsible for the cause and on the hook to write the check. The alternative is that the rodeo is actively looking for a way to say that everyone who paid to attend on Friday is SOL which won't be a good look.

If they do refuse a refund I would imagine the argument will be that you bought Rodeo tickets for Friday night then you got to see the entirety of the Rodeo and it was just the concert that actually got short. Agree that won't go over too well especially when Journey was one of the more popular acts this year. I'm sure the Rodeo wishes this had happened on a random weeknight concert instead.

They did not handle refunds very well for Covid initially, but to be fair that was an extremely chaotic time that literally happened in the middle of Rodeo.

Still hunting for a blue or green lot parking pass for tomorrow night (Tuesday 3/18) if anyone has one available to sell I would appreciate it. Other surrounding lots are fine too, closer the better. Can PM me. TIA.
