"quesadilla (which is basically a melted cheese taco with lightly fried tortilla),"
I'm just glad to have finally solved the great mystery of what a "quesadilla" is.
I've never seen one with just one tortilla…theirs looks just like a taco and should probably be called a taco.
It was a fair warning to anyone who might be caught off guard by the presentation. Or the portion size. Looks nothing like any quesadilla I have ever had. Whether el tiempo, taqueria Cancun, Los tios, Teotihuacan, or Taco Cabana. It's a phenomenal taco, but they call it a quesadilla, so heads up.
I like them either way but I've had the single loaded taco-shaped quesadilla at roadside stands in Mexico as that's how it comes at the taco counter inside the gas station at Durham & 16th (that's really good).
I have too, but they don't look like a taco because no taco is that big. If a Mexican taco truck served you this "quesadilla", I think you'd understand where I'm coming from. Tacos at taco trucks are bigger than this thing. Anyways, wasted enough energy on this topic. Was just a friendly heads up/observation, didn't mean to cause a controversy.
My point was, these things are good, but get two or three, because they're literally TACOS. At no taco truck or restaurant I have ever been to would I order two quesadillas to be moderately satisfied or 3 to be full.
You wait in line and order at front counter at Little Rey's, and the $8 quesadilla (aka melted cheese taco) may be enough for a 6-7 yr old. Trying to save people an extra trip to the counter and 10-15 minutes of inconvenience.
