Anyone following the CD4 election (x-post on Forum 16)
CD4 is huge district in East Texas that run largely alone I-30 from Rockwall to Texarkana, picking up medium sized cities like Paris, Sherman, and Mt Pleasant. It's 3-term Congressman, John Ratcliffe, was picked by Trump to the Director of National Intelligence in May, well after all the hoops for the normal primary were completed. Due to the RONA, Abbot decided against a special election and picking the Repub nominee is in the hands of the Repub Party of Texas leadership for the area (like 150 people).
It is hard to get a good read on who all has thrown their hat in the ring, but word is it is like 19 people. One is a buddy of mine (Trace Johannesen...was Tracer311 on here back in the day). Another is Floyd McClendon, who lost the primary to challenge Colin Allred for CD32 and apparently moved to East Texas... 19 is crazy, and picked by party leadership is interesting.
No ask, just curious if anyone is following. Selection day is in early August.
