I am having a boat restored at Tran's and so I go there weekly. All I've found is the DQ but I did go to the Mexican food restaurant just south of Tran years ago and it was good.

Need some help with this one............As you go out of Matagorda going towards the beach, there is a little restaurant on the right side of the road. It is nestled up to the Colorado River. You can sit on the back porch and eat while you look at the river. Also across the river is a cleared out area in the brush. Sometimes the wild hogs will come out of the brush and eat. For the life of me I cannot remember the name of that place. But it is nice at the end of the day to watch a sunset and enjoy a drink or a meal.

Ah....Riverbend. Place is PERFECT for what you need after a long day on the water. Good food and cold beer.

Go north a bit to Wharton and eat at hinzes off of 59

I agree, however you cannot beat the banana pudding from Mikeska's BBQ in El Campo.
