That will work for kids with parents who care. For the ones who use school as free daycare, those kids will fall further behind.

A major Temple/Belton builder is halting all construction on houses once they're dried in. Lots of subs and vendors will be affected.

Yep.....TXDOT nearly crippled Waco with this construction.....right when it was starting to boom. This is going to make it worse.RustyBoltz said:Waco may not recover from this. City of Temple and Temple ISD holding press conferences this afternnon. I know the city is shutting facilities down. I expect TISD is going to extend the school closures.

TISD closimg schools for next week. Announced rolling out remote learning to start on the 24th.
BISD closed till 4/3 at least. Working out learning from home.

How are ISD's still able to pay all employees?
Taxes are still collected and it seems like the state is saying they'll continue funding as well. The federal programs (SPED and food service) are requiring documentation of services still being given, but the current thought is they'll continue paying.

Going to be a huge issue. I'm not sure how taxes are allocated at local or state, but I'm sure sales tax is a major part of the equation m.

No. School funding, O&M, is funded thru property taxes. But the state still doles out the money based on attendance. I think BISD had a budget of $119 million for the 19/20 school year. 80% of that is salary/wages. If you have an outlier for attendance, you file a waiver with the state to get the money you counted on. But I'd you just have poor attendance, you get less.
Adding, this has nothing to do with bond payments. That's property tax funded but it's separate from O&M.
