I started Zepbound March 15 and I'm down 25 pounds. It's been a consistent 2-3 pounds a week. I started out at 246. I haven't been in the 220 range since 2011 when I went to Philmont with my son's Scout troop. My diet was ok before, but even when I made the effort to eat smarter it didn't seem to make a difference. I do think I'm making more healthier choices than I used to (it's easier to do when you see results); but the reality is I just don't want to eat or drink as much as I used to. My goal is to put 200 in the rearview mirror. I'll cross the bridge of a long-term strategy (this ain't it) when I'm at a proper weight.

Stuff is expensive, but it works!

Thats a good question. I have the years supply and will meet my goal much faster than I thought.

Almost hoping Hims will say "We aren't allowed to refill in June...here is a $1000 refund"

I may just lower the dosage and use until I run out

4 month update on GLP-1. I hit One-derland today. Started at 240 on Feb 1. Hit 199.2 today. 40 pounds in 4 months with literally no effort on my part

So what is your diet and exercise like? I have been losing more like 3 lb a month, not the 10 you've been averaging and we are similar weights. I started at around 240 and was 210 this morning, but I've been taking it for about a year.

EDIT - went back and saw your earlier post.

My issue is me not keeping my diet under control. And by diet, I mean craft beer consumption.

Yeah no real extra exercise since I started... but I did cut out alcohol entirely to speed things along. And diet really didnt change that much other than being aware that I need to make sure the calories I did take had good protein and nutrients...

And of course it helped with portion control. I'd get full so fast... and it eliminated my snack cravings.

Wow, congrats on hitting One-derlandthat's a huge milestone! Your experience mirrors a lot of what I've seen too. I've been on Mounjaro for a little over three months and I'm down 28 lbs. The appetite suppression and portion control have been total game changers. Same hereno intense workouts or crash diets, just more mindful eating and letting the med do its job.

The biggest challenge for me was access. My insurance wouldn't cover it at first, so I had to find a reputable way to get Mounjaro online through a licensed pharmacy abroad. It ended up being way smoother than I expected, but yeah, the cost is still a major barrier for so many people.

Just hit the six month mark on Zepbound. Down 41 pounds. 205 this morning. Last time I was in this weight range was around '05.

It was a pretty consistent 2-2.5 pounds a week at first, but has slowed down. Really only eat two meals a day now. Still drink too much - which I'm sure doesn't help. But I feel and sleep so much better.

Have a lot of work to do to get in shape, but this has been incredible for me.

Weighed is this weekend below 190. I've dropped close to 60 pounds on Zep. Never had to go above the 5 mg dosage. The weight loss has slowed, but I've been working out a little more so I hope gaining muscle has something to do with that. I've had to buy a whole new wardrobe. My energy levels are greatly improved. Sleeping better at night.

These results have me super motivated to maintain this size and weight. I haven't felt this good in years.

Last check-in as a Zepbound user (fingers crossed).

I've settled in around 185. It's been 30 years since I was in this weight range.

For the last 3 months I've been back on the 2.5mg introductory dose. I dropped a few more pounds and stabilized out over the last 6 weeks. Saw my doctor this morning. He's happy with where I am and says I'm ready to stop the Zepbound. He suspects my body has fully adjusted to eating less. I have a few more doses and said I can take them or not - my choice.

Took my first shot on 3/15/25. I weighed in at 247. Today? 185.5. I went from XXL shirts to L. From 42-44" waist pants to 34" (maybe going to 32s...).

I will keep weighing in on a weekly basis. And I plan to keep hitting the gym. I actually see results now! I'm sleeping better. I'm eating less. And I feel good. I'm motivated to maintain where I am.

This has been a game changer for me.

I was at my annual check up and telling my doctor that I have had success eating low carb before but I can't make it the first three weeks without sugar so I keep failing. She suggested tirzepatide for a short period to break the sugar addiction. I got on it for 6 weeks and had no sugar or bad carbs the whole time. It was effortless. She started me on 2.5 but they reduced the dose after a few weeks and by my last shot it was 1.0 mg.

I have been off of it for over a month and continue losing weight. My doctor told me if I end up struggling again I can always get back on it.

If you are struggling with sugar/carb addiction and want to use this to break it, it is amazing. I highly recommend it. I think even longer term use is good as long as you are actually changing your lifestyle by eating whole foods, lifting weights, and getting your steps in.

The reason I stopped is because I was trying to hit a protein goal every day and it felt impossible on the shot. I think it would have worked if ate four smaller protein based meals per day but I don't have time for that on work days. I was also concerned that some days my calorie intake would be super low from lack of hunger and feeling full for a long time after meals. I didn't want to destroy my metabolism by chronic low calorie days.

If I end up hitting a hard plateau and can't get past it with all the tools I have to help with weight loss then I will get back on a micro-dose again and try eating smaller meals throughout the day to get enough protein.

It definitely comes off a lot faster on the shot than without the shot. I am just following advice to keep a smaller calorie deficit, lift weights, hit a protein goal, walk a lot. With the shot some days I would only eat 1100 calories due to lack of hunger. I was probably averaging 1400 to 1500 calories per day. I am currently losing more than a pound per week eating 2100 calories per day. I feel better doing it slow like this and I am getting stronger every week. When I was on the higher dose of the shot I had some days where I felt low on energy and was freezing in a room that no one else thought was cold.

On 2mg ozempic qweek, down 47# from 336 to 289. Appetite has really dropped off. I have lost muscle but a lot of water (bloat) and fat. On TRT so has preserved some muscle I think. I feel great. Joints don't ache anymore, BP great on half the BP meds and my A1c is back around 5.6-5.7. I have zero plans to get off. My insurance bc/bs covers it, $15/mo. The improvements in my health and long term CV benefits outweigh any potential risks.

Retatrutide is going to be the new one to watch. It shows to actually reverse fatty liver.

You could also just try doing high-carb instead. Carbs are not the devil that others have portrayed them to be. Especially high-fiber complex carbs.

In fact, if you moved to a higher protein/higher fiber approach, you might find that it's easier to sustain a calorie deficit. Keep the protein on the leaner side more often- but notice I didn't say avoid high-fat protein totally

I'm a HUGE fan of Kevin Hall's work. The point he's raising is EXACTLY why when you use a GLP1 for weight loss then you need to find a dietary pattern that you like and that you can do consistently while also finding a consistent physical activity routine that at least preserves muscle mass.

Your BMR decreases when you lose weight because there is less mass that needs energy- and if you lose muscle while on any crash diet then the BMR decreases further.

So the correct approach has been and always will be a diet you like that checks the boxes of protein and adequate activity which is flexible enough to fit your schedule and lifestyle. Thus the risk of weight rebound goes down

There are a lot more health benefits to many GLP-1 drugs than simple weight loss. For instance, Wegovey is great for liver function. Many of these are great for cardiovascular health.

Not just for diabetes and weight loss anymore.

Everything in that article is true if you make zero lifestyle changes while on the weight loss drug or you don't stick to those changes when you come off of it. I went off and continued losing weight even if it was slower weight loss.

Also, if you stay on a low dose and only use it to help you break your addiction to sugar and ultra processed foods then when you come off of it you don't get that massive hunger rebound. That only happens when you keep taking the dosage up because you are trying to use the drug's appetite suppression as your only method of maintaining a calorie deficit. If you switch to a whole foods diet that is high in protein you naturally eat less calories. If you lift weights and get a lot of steps in your body burns more calories. Do both of those things on a low dose of the shot and weight comes off easily and you're not going to gain it all back when you eventually stop.

Good News: I lost 11 lbs in 2 weeks and cut the sugar cravings.

Bad News - I had the WORST nocturnal diarrea and projectile vomiting from even the .25 dose. Started the day after my second injection and went non stop for over a week.

I've never felt so awful or been so sick in my life.

I'll never touch them again.

Anyone else have a similar experience? I'm literally one the pot every 30 minutes from 10pm to 5:30am ****ting foul smelling yellow water and projectable vomiting everything I ate for the day.

Not once, not twice, not three times, but every night since Sunday.

Second injection of .25mg Wegovy.

No problems with the first dose. Felt well enough to go to the gym, yoga, etc.

Then last Sunday I took the second dose. Monday I Woke up with a rash across my entire lower back. Then Monday night I had the most intense vomiting and explosivo diarrea.

Tuesday night no problem but then Wednesday through right now - it's been the same every night starting at about 9:00pm until 5:30-6am.

I can barely muster the strength to walk around at this point.

Normal routine is yoga y very day and gym 5x per week.

I haven't yogad since last monday abd gym since Wednesday. I feel like ive ****ed my **** up permanently. Never in my life would I do this again if asked.

What the **** am I doing wrong?

I had something similar (without the rash) on the 2nd dose step of Mounjaro and have had a few shorter duration episodes as I have ramped up to higher dose steps over time. It seems to me that it gets triggered when I overeat late in the day or early evening, particularly with heavy starches (corn based stuff typically). My solution that I have come to over time was to use liquid Kaopectate early and often when it starts. The pill based Imodium and others just didn't even slow it down.

I also changed my daily probiotic to one including Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium lactis. I use this one that I get at HEB: Digestive Probiotics Extra Strength 15 Billion CFU from Live Cultures | Nature Made. I did some research on which strains helped minimize diarrhea and which ones soothed indigestion and Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium were the two that seemed to be the most effective. Since I started on that probiotic about 8 months ago, I have had maybe 3 episodes, but all were maybe 2 days in length instead of 5-7 like I had several times over a 2-3 month period early on before using it.

The biggest part of getting used to the GLPs though is DO NOT OVEREAT. When you reach the point where you are not hungry, do not keep going. Recalibrate what "full" means to you. Don't think "I will just clean my plate and skip dessert" or "I hate to leave this half bowl of chili uneaten". Just stop when your hunger is sated. When you keep going until you feel full, it is too late, bad things happen and it isn't all that different from what people who had gastric bypass surgery experienced if they overate.

The other thing I forgot to mention is that when I feel it coming on (usually with a couple of really vile tasting belches), it helps to start drinking a lot of cold water. It helps flush things out of my stomach a bit and seems to keep it from getting as bad or lasting as long if it otherwise would. With the color and the bile taste from the belches I get, I always assumed there was some dehydration and gall bladder issue being triggered.

I get it. One of the worst episodes of it that I had was when I was out of town at a field site and had to be supervising a drilling crew all day. No portajohn at the immediate site and I had to keep timing it so I was leaving to go do business when they had tasks that didn't involve me. I was out in 90-95F super humid weather 10-12 hours a day just chugging gatorade and water non-stop to keep hydrated. I was collapsing at the hotel with no dinner and sleeping about 10 hours straight just to have enough energy to get started the next day.

I hope you get it figured out. Now that I am past that stage, I have not had any other real issues and I am down nearly 40 pounds in the last year with A1c at 6.0 (down from over 8)

Maybe so, but there are many benefits to GLPs other than just weight loss.

I'm 170 lbs and 18-19% BF and have been using reta for almost a month now at a very low dosage. I feel/look better than I have in the last 10 years or so.
