It would be great if half the idiots on Twitter complaining about cheating wouldn't have cheated in their English-Language Arts classes in school.

People forget we were part of the South West Conference, where this type of game was invented, just legal now.
University of Chicago dropped football nearly 100 years ago bc of how much money was polluting the game.

We didn't start the fire, it was always burnin since the world been turnin. It's just now with NIL a lot of BMA's are ready and willing to do what so many of the top programs have been doing wholeheartedly.

The crying all makes sense. The Alabama win certainly helped us, but we have to acknowledge there is NIL deal-making happening.

Very strange to go 8-4 yet still have the top rated class of all time without some level of NIL-dealmaking, which is all fair game now.
How did the sips get such a high class without even being bowl eligible?

Because "We're Texas", lmfao. We won a title in 2005 and a few more before scholarship limits started in 1973, but that wasn't cheating because it was legal, oh wait.(Todays athletes are really impressed by titles during the racist damn 60's btw)

All these idiots talking about the past are like the cute girl from high school who is now are crack ***** with 7 kids from 5 different dudes.

Long gone are the days of true journalism. Go to a game at Kyle now and a game at DKR and tell me how the ****ing 60's are relevant.

This less about NIL $$$, and more about A&M not deserving this recruiting class, because we are not establishment CFB and those those that establishment being lazy and burying their heads in the sand about NIL

66,000 students on campus, 102.000 seat stadium, SEC west team, wealthy alumni base, southern climate, 2 NFL teams in the state, people from all areas of the country are moving here in droves anyway, why not 5 star football players, national championship winning coach, jimbo and a solid staff of recruiters! What else does a 5 star football player need?

We have it all. Sorry If it hurts your little feelings that A&M has barged into the top 5 of college football! You are just going to have to get used to it!

The SEC had two top teams (you know the two) in college football already and you will now have to put A&M up there in the mix!

The funny thing about comments like this is girls on Twitter joke about how ridiculous this guy looks and how women keep themselves protected with weapons and then they'll turn around and sleep with this guy and all his fraternity brothers because their celestial crystals told them the stars were aligning

The sips spent $4,000,000+ on their new QB.

I know we are running a great NIL program but I doubt we paid any of our recruits $4M to play at A&M. People still want to play for us and Jimbo with or without the money.

I love watching sips grasp at straws on Twitter to make them feel better. Tweeting behind their avi pic of bevo from like 1976.

Hilarious that they actually believe they will take recruits from this class.

Should not have fired Mack, nor Dodds nor Powers in the way they did. And at the time they did.

Now, Dodds had pissed off most everybody by that point and had little Big Cigar support. Powers was on thin ice.

Firing Mack Brown became the litmus test for both. Still had friends who were in the Big Cigar category back then that I could talk with about what was happening on the 40 acres. The politics behind their calculus.

Horribly misled. Strong was a disaster. Herman was a disaster. Sark is a disaster.

But the one coach I fear going to the sips right now, ain't Saban, ain't Fisher, it is Kiffin.
I was talking to some Dirt Burglars last month about their coaching search. I was worried that they would get Kiffin. A couple of them seemed interested but most of them thought they could do much better. And, perhaps for OU, Venables will be better than Kiffin, but I agree that Kiffin would probably do a great job at tu and likely cause us a lot of pain. I think that he's learned from his previous mistakes though, at ole miss they will love him forever if he's sniffing the top 25 every year and is about .500 in down years, and they'll pay him a top 10 yearly salary to do it.

The big catch at ole miss is that (by state law) they can not offer more than a 4 year contract. So, $7.5m a year is a lot, but when somebody offers him one of the insane salaries that unproven guys like Mel Tucker or good but not great coaches like Riley and Kelly got, say 10 yrs $100m, he will bolt.

Rumor mill this morning is that UCLA will fire Kelly on the 15th when his buy-out decreases and hire Kiffin. LOL.

I can see Kiffin being interested in the UCLA job. Understand that Kiffin has been offered a new contract at Ole Miss but not sure it has been signed and approved by the Board yet.

Have to wonder if the NFL is going to start a second wave of college coaching carousels, too.

I was against NIL, but everyone knew that the two schools with endowments equal to Ivy League schools but are obsessed with football are going to win out.
I was against NIL, as was most everyone I know that liked the old school Amateurism. The blue bloods assumed they could market kids better than anyone else, because they brought the "tradition" of their name being big, and being very successful at paying players with the media looking the other way.

I said a couple years ago when NIL was really starting to gain steam, that if A&M could put together the best system at it, with our virtually unlimited resources that recruiting could put us in a better situation than anyone in college football. You mix our $$$ with 50 years of BAS and high motivation to put ourselves on top, and this is what you get.

Texas A&M, knowing that NIL was imminent, was like Jack Reacher's character in the first Reacher movie, surrounded by the blue bloods and saying "Just remember, you wanted this..."
Yep. It's the reason that USC paid so much for Riley, they've been down for 15 years and decided to spend their resources on a big name coach. We already had the big name coach, so we're spending it on the players. This wheel will turn, and tu/bama/osu/clemson/ou/etc etc will get desperate in the future and spend even more, but for now we have greater resources resources than most and certainly a strong sense of urgency to win now.

Mel Tucker or Brian Kelly aren't getting $100m from an NFL team though. College coaches without nfl head coaching experience making the jump to NFL head coach have a spotty record at best. Jimmy Johnson was amazing. Kingsbury is doing a good job so far after 2 years. But Saban fell flat, Meyer flamed out after 10 games, Rhule isn't impressing these days, etc etc etc...it's mostly a dumpster fire when these allegedly elite coaches can't out out-talent 90% of their games and have to actually out-coach their opponents.

I could see people going hard (and failing) at Jim Harbaugh. If Michigan State would pay Mel Tucker $95m to stay, how much is Harbaugh worth to Michigan now? Would any NFL team guarantee Harbaugh $95m? Who else would be on NFL head coaching radar right now?

If I was Kiffin and I had a choice between $30m for 4 yrs at 'Ole Miss and $100m over 10 yrs at UCLA, I would not hesitate one second. He didn't get LSU or Florida this cycle. There's no guarantee that he'll continue to win at such a high rate at Ole Miss, and turning around UCLA would look just as good on his resume for future jobs as continuing to win at Ole Miss. However, I bet that UCLA won't pay him that much, they'll look at his entire body of work and kind of turn up their noses the same way that a lot of OU alum did, they'll lowball him with something like 7 yrs 50m and he'll pass.

Now that I think about it, Kiffin might make an interesting target for an NFL team. He has NFL experience, and he can out-coach most people. Hmmm, and isn't his old job with the Raiders open?

The arrogance of the 'blue blood' fans is astounding. "Texas A&M should know their place! They're not allowed to have #1 classes! They're cheating!"

We should start calling them 'has been.' It certainly fits better than 'blue blood.' Bunch of entitled crybabies.

Fact: Jimbo has averaged a No. 4 recruiting class over the last ten years.

Fact: A&M went 9-1 last season, won the Orange Bowl and finished the rankings as the No. 4 team in the country.

Random Dudes on Twitter: THEYVE GONE 8-4 THE LAST FIVE YEARS STRAIGHT AND HAVENT WON ANYTHING SINCE THE DUST BOWL. IT MAKES NO SENSE WHY ANYONE WOULD WANT TO GO TO A&M.

Random Cow Fans on Twitter: YEAH, WE HAVENT BEEN RELEVANT IN 15 YEARS AND HAVE HAD THREE DUMPSTER FIRE COACHES IN A ROW, LOST MULTIPLE TIMES TO KANSAS, PISSED OFF ALL OUR BIG CIGAR DONORS, WOEFULLY FAILED TO MEET EXPECTATIONS ON THE FIELD BOTH IN WINS AND PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, AND STILL MANAGED TOP 5 RECRUITING CLASSES EVERY YEAR, BUT IT JUST MAKES NO SENSE HOW **** COULD HAVE A NUMBER 1 CLASS UNLESS THEY ARE CHEATING.
