Curious if anybody has info on James Thompson Jr.

He has kind of slipped through the cracks, but he is probably the portal DL I valued the highest early on. Has really solid tape, great locker room guy, connections to Rodas Johnson. I know he visited recently.

Him and Iowa State DT Onyedim from Richmond Foster would solidify the interior.

If I continue, Beerad, and Vander will have me banned. I think I've made my point clear enough.

And the whole point of the post more about the units as a whole. If you look and have any shred of ability to interpret things for yourself, you can see that Scourton and Howell were the only two guys who had any kind of production going into 2024. Going into 2025 we have 3 guys who have produced instead of just 2. Kennedy is still an unknown but has a little more after 2024.

Now, in 2024, we had the star rankings. People assumed Stewart would take the next step as a JR, but he did what he always has done before. Look like a stud, but play just okay.

That was literally all the post was meant to be, but a certain someone can't see that beyond their own bias of what they think I'm trying to do.

Yeah. Still need the beef. Elite teams beed at least three to four effective 320-330 pounders for an entire season. Those dudes always get injured or get worn out.

So far the roster lost three 3-Star-ish DEs and replaced with about the same type of players.

I am interested to see where Owen McCown lands. He isn't big enough to get a lot of hype, but someone like Vandy or Purdue may really benefit from a QB like him. He played one of the best halves of football I have seen this year in the first half against UNT. Knows how to read defenses, is incredibly accurate, and can run when he has to. Aggie FB related because his uncle was our QB the last time we won any kind of championship in football.

I think I'd like to have 1 more upperclassmen OL just in case of injuries, but that is a tough sell for anybody with draft aspirations given we essentially have 6 returning starters and a young talent expected to compete at center(Ashton Funk).

We've been lucky to have such a great, unselfish player in Reuben Fatheree providing depth after injury in his draftable years. I'm not sure if he is going to get another year of eligibility and return, but he also could factor into the equation.

No one disagrees. I want to add 15 more great prospects at damn near every position, including 2 more Wr, 2 more DT, lb, rb, S, TE, etc. But we don't have that kind of room nor nil funds…

Everyone also understands that no team has 4-5 sure fire Ot prospects on campus. Everyone understands that these types of OTs don't want to come compete with what we have. Everyone understands that nil is a thing and in order to break the bank to get one of these ots you essentially have to take lesser dl and WRs.

We have 3 redshirt seniors with a dozen or more starts each. Have a promising redshirt freshman LT the staff likes, and brought in a 5 star. Very few are in that good of a position at OT. It's a concern until it isn't. Obviously our RT position can use improvement. But at some point you have to develop the guys you bring in. We have it engrained in our bas that the only way to get better is to go to the portal because the last staff just didn't develop guys.

No one year rental ot who is looking to get on the field is looking to come compete with 3 redshirt seniors

Perhaps it's time we take what is probably the most experienced returning OL in the entire sec with 7 guys who have a dozen or more starts and make them damn a good ol.

He's supposed to be super athletic but still needs to get bigger and stronger as he is listed at 295.
