Thank God USCs QB is horrible.
I am really expecting this to change next season. I think Howell is showing his versatility tonight. If you go back and look at Elko defenses typically its the 2nd year that the multiple looks and alignments tend to show up much more. Now If Bateman is really running it and refuses to ever change the style or type of what his Nickel does .....then I have no idea if we will see anything different... god I hope that doesn't happen now that I type that out lol.Socrates05 said:btglow87 said:
we play too much 4-2 box with us counting on a cover nickel or deep safety to be that extra box defender. 4-2-5 doesn't work unless you have that stud star safety who can play Sam backer and cover. We don't have one and people all year have abused us for it. like how about a 50 front that can flex to and over or under something else that gives the offense something to think about from a personnel stand point.
I gave the post a star but needed to quote to highlight it again. Of all the shortcomings this season this frustrates me the most.

We have zero killer instinct.
We have no killer coaches. Is elko taking a nap on the sidelines? Is CK shuffling his deck of cards now to keep them guessing? Will Bateman let them run at the tackles and bust one wide open?
This is why I wanted Kiffen

Smith can gain 3 or 4 yards falling forward but we give it to our 150 pound QB. Not smart!

The Aggie D will prob let them march down the field for winning score yet everyone on here will be talking about Reed and Klein.
