Almost like distance mattered as they stated it would.

People need to stop calling this 'three permanent rivals'. It's 'three permanent opponents'. The idea is to try to preserve many of the traditional rivalries, but it was never going to be a situation where every team's three opponents are all considered to be traditional rivals.

It's interesting how we have the same annual opponents as Arkansas. We are playing all 3 of them on the road this year, but I don't want to play all 3 of them of them on the road every odd year: 2025, 2027, 2029, etc. I am guessing that we will play in Texas in Austin again next year because we played 2 consecutive home games against them in 2011 and 2024. I am willing to make that short term sacrifice to avoid having to play all 3 annual opponents on the road every odd year.

need to stop calling them permanent also, since they aren't

Mizzou should be Oklahoma Kentucky and Arkansas (Lexington is half the distance to Columbia that CS is and it's a border state and it's Kentucky FB, no one cares who they play)
Tired of getting stuck with these guys and would have taken SC or MSU over them but as always, the SEC screws us over

So South Carolina is breaking up the Georgia/Tennessee rivalry?

Only for 4 seasons unless this is bogus.
No Clanga
No Fayettenam
Mizzou is fine with both LSU and whorns.

Texas and Mizz have the same annuals.
Arkansas and TAMU have the same annuals.
And we effectively have two conferences, with two groups. One group is 9 Teams, the other group is 7 teams, and they are only joined by Miss State and Ole Miss. pic.twitter.com/m04MrInSrb

There are no longer east and west teams…JJxvi said:
Yeah we will play 3 from the "West" and then there are 9 teams in the "East" and 3 in the "West" left so one year will be 4/2 and the other will be 5/1
So we will have 9 games and play 5 east teams and 4 west in one year and 5 west teams and 4 east teams the other

glad they didn't and no one wanted that.

true, but thats a function of the SEC wanting to give every team their "top choice" for a game. 3 teams consider them their top rival.

They honestly might as well have brought back West vs East with this set up
SEC West
Arkansas
Louisiana State
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Missouri
Oklahoma
Texas A&M
tu
SEC East
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
South Carolina
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
LSU vs Alabama basically the only game of note lost

Arkansas got the exact same 3 as we did. Kinda weird.
