Turf means grass... so you'll need to get better on words.

This is getting as bad as gun "clips"

Ummm No. Turf = artificial playing surface. Grass = natural playing surface. For example ….. if you're watching your pregame show of choice and on of the dudes says: "So and So university just installed a new turf playing surface"……. You think he's talking about Tiff 419 or a playing surface made in a factory?

Well, being an Aggie who took some turfgrass management courses, I would immediately think it was new grass.

Inclement weather is usually a great equalizer in football.

Hope we are not walking into a trap game.

Regardless of their record, this is the best opponent we've faced since Notre Dame.

This is the best opponent we've faced since Notre Dame?

Maybe you mean on offense? If so, I agree.

According to FEI, their defense is worse than UTSA's.

If we cannot beat this Arky team convincingly during drought, downpour, hurricane, tornado, El Niño, whatever…we are primed for a disappointing back half of the season. I don't care about interim HC Easy Rider or that Reuben Owens is our lead back now. We are head and shoulders above this team and there is no excuse for it to be a nail biter.

Well being a non Aggie that didn't take any ag classes but did play college football and has coached football for the last 30 years…. I call an artificial playing surface - turf. So, I can we can agree to disagree haha.

Not only is it supposed to rain pre game but those storms could be severe according to SPC.

I vaguely remember a game time being moved this year because of weather. They should go ahead and be proactive and do the same for this one.

Edit: https://www.ozarksfirst.com/news/missouri-tigers-game-moved-to-12pm-kickoff-due-to-heat-wave/amp/

This was because of heat, but all forecasts showing severe weather at this point.

Gotta love the Zoo being a Zoo....

To me, in sports... Turf is short for Astroturf or more recently, field turf. Grass, while yes technically a "turf grass" is referred to as a grass field or natural playing surface.

But because it's TexAgs, let's argue over which side of a single fence post is the front.

Weather may affect the game, it might affect the final score, but it shouldn't affect the outcome of this game. We matchup against this team really well, and have advantage across the board. This is going to be a test of our teams culture and the mental toughness. If Mike Elko is the coach we hope he is, this isn't a game we lose.

They arent gonna play in severe weather. They'll move kickoff to later if they need to

If that's how you define "turf" - well, you'd be wrong.

With Arky's passing game I think lots of rain would benefit us.

Totally disagree.

Arky only chance to win is getting a bunch of turnovers. Surprised so many think bad conditions good for us.

We are the much better team. Sloppy conditions is NOT better for us.

Bad weather almost always benefits the team with the best rushing attack. Ditto the defense with the best rush defense.

We dominate both categories.

Disagree. And as someone said bad weather is an equalizer.

AI is not always right but disagrees with you too...

"Yes, bad weather can affect the "better" team in football by neutralizing the advantage of superior skill through factors like poor field conditions."

FWIW, Weather Underground says to expect an inch of rain with peak probability at 1 pm. But, getting the details right on this stuff isn't easy. I'm anxious to see Doc's next update.

So let's bet how long of a delay there will be. My guess is an hour and a half.

Wearing the Hogs down (lack of depth) heading into the 2nd half is one of our advantages.
Hogs haven't been playing well in the 2nd half. Been getting most point in 1st qtr..
Sure hope this game isn't paused and restarted, etc., letting the Hogs have multiple resets.

Updated forecast from our meteorologists up here are stating rain/scattered thunderstorms will begin at 8AM and continue until around 6PM. Going to be a bit windy too, up to 16MPH. Butterfingers Taylen Green's worst nightmare upcoming.

At this point, all High res models show a lot of rain. 100% of rain at this point.

The first wave could be severe with small hail and a low end chance at a brief tornado. (Unlikely). This wave is trending later. Like 1200 noon to 3p.

The second wave of rain looks to be more stratiform rain (steady, no lightning). This timing looks like 3-6pm.

A bummer as I was looking forward to traveling to the game from Tulsa...probably not worth it to sit around in a 3+ hour weather delay

Hoping the game isn't delayed throwing off the team's schedule since we are right back on the road next week. I do think rain and delays can neuter the home crowd though which is nice.

He's a true dual threat and they have a skrong running game. He and their top RB each have over 500 yards. We're without our best RB.
We could be in trouble if they hit us with a heavy dose of zone read.

Okay, nevermind. My weather-channel app's forecast now says:

100% at 2pm
100% at 3pm
76% at 4pm
24% at 5pm
40% at 6pm
50% at 7pm

Edit: at 1am Saturday morning.

Updated forecast from NWA meteorologists:

Scattered thunderstorms begin at 9am. From there it switches back and forth from scattered, regular and heavy thunderstorms. This will last until 9pm. Bottom line, it's gonna rain the ENTIRE game. Buckle up!

No Moss and only way I think Arky wins is in a sloppy game.

I'm starting to get BAS which I haven't had in a while.
