Me too. I guess BAS and TDS are very strong with potential rain games.

I think it's generally unknown which team will adapt better, which is why it's an unwelcome variable. On a solid track we know which team is better, on slop it may equalize some of the advantages. Examples:

Our speed rushers will be negatively influenced
We don't know which QB will adapt better-which has bigger hands etc
The olines will have to lean on guys more than athletically attack them. Since we're far more athletic this probably mitigates the advantage.
They have a big back, we don't

No question some of the impacts will also reduce Arkansas effectiveness, but when you're clearly the better team, this is not a variable you want influencing the results.

so you're saying there's a chance of Showers?

Looking at the thunder outlook for tomorrow I hope the team brings a book to read while they wait. Maybe a neck pillow for a nap.

Pretty easy to understand actually. Let me bold it for you...

Bad weather is often considered a great equalizer in football because it can neutralize some of the advantages that a more skilled or talented team might have over an opponent.

Good thing the sips can't water down the field this year

It won't be for lack of trying

For those still confused on how bad weather hurts A&M:

  • Reduces Reliance on Finesse Skills: Bad weather makes precise actions like passing and catching more difficult, forcing teams to rely more on their running game and power, potentially leveling the playing field for less technically gifted teams or those with strong running backs. Arkansas is averaging over 6 yards per rush. Those on here saying A&M has a better rushing attack is not true. Arkansas ranks 17th and A&M 34th. Also A&M will not have Moss.
  • Increases Turnover Opportunities: Wet fields, slippery balls, and poor visibility can lead to more fumbles and dropped passes, creating more opportunities for the underdog team to gain possession and score. (Arkansas needs turnovers to pull off this upset.)

Thanks for bolding. You forgot to discuss the specifics of these two teams and the "skills" of the Ags that will be neutralized

It means less talented teams - or teams that are not expected to win - have a distinct advantage in the rain. Bad teams can only get so much worse while good teams can fall a long way. Ergo, the Aggies - since they are currently considered "good" - will play much worse than a bad team in the rain. Therefore all the Aggies with shriveled nuts are sure that their team will play worse than a less talented pig team in the rain. Also, pigs do better in the rain. It's just their thing.
I resolve in 2026 to be more tolerant and respectful of trolls and emotionally fragile, overly pessimistic posters so they don’t run crying to the mods and have me banned for three days.

Weather channel app at 1am Saturday:

100% chance of rain at 2pm
100% at 3pm
76% at 4pm
24% at 5pm
40% at 6pm

I didn't see this thread until now. I posted a new thread but asked staff to delete mine just now at 1:37 am.

2:00 is 70% chance of rain and shows thunderstorms Rain at 3:00 is 70% then dropping only to 50% at 4:00 pm. and 5 pm with 30% chance at 6:00 pm.
Thunderstorms might delay the game.

Any thoughts on who might be favored on a wet field? My only thoughts are it would seem to lower the total score.
Seems like wet turf might favor the defense of each team.

70% chance of rain starting at 6:00 am.

Obviously the odds of fumbles will be much higher making, in my opinion, the game potentially more unpredictable and I sure hope this doesn't take away A&M's edge due to the added variability. I expect short throws and runners cradling the ball tight.

Don't mind the rain. Just don't want a lightning delay.

Latest model for 3pm. It's going to be popping off. Pretty much expecting our game to not start until at least 5.

Anyone think they will just push kickoff back to 5ish instead of trying to kick at 2:30?

My guess is that rain starts between 10:00 and 10:15. Thunder is definitely moving in.

We are about 5-6 miles from the stadium right now and it's pouring. Some lightning/thunder as well.

Edited to add, Only a light sprinkle on campus at the moment.

This should be a fun one…

I think Arkansas offense can get a whole lot worse in the rain. Their defense can't tackle regardless of the weather but I don't think the weather shifts the needle that much in favor of the Pigs

We have a break in the rain right now, but looks like it's all coming in the next hour. Weather app shows lightning through the afternoon so I imagine we would have delayed kick off.
