It was someone every poster here knows so I won't name him but it was embarrassing and pitiful all at the same time. We've been to BR multiple times and had great experiences.

6? 8? I wouldn't take my 34 year old son to a game there.

Hell, that 3rd world country Baton Rouge is bad enough.

You guys.

I took my 11 and 6 year old daughters to the LSU night game vs SE LA earlier this year. Got there early, saw Mike, watched some early football on the big screen in the AC at the PMAC, then watched the band and team march in.

No issues at all before or during the game. The kids had a great time. Could there be issues? Maybe. But some of y'all are acting like the OP is planning on taking his kids on a stroll through the streets of Kyiv.

I don't think the scene before a game with SELA in September is comparable to what's in store for fans wearing maroon to the game on Saturday.

I remember when we played them maybe in the late 80s or early 90s, Mike the Tiger punched a cop on the field. the cop was breaking up a fight ON THE FIELD between drunk corn dogs and some Ags, then here comes 'ol Mike to punch the cop in the head from behind. The corn dogs were just parking in the middle of the street and leaving their cars so they didn't have to walk...and that was in Kyle Field, not even their place.

Unless your boys are the adopted offspring of Walker, Texas Ranger, you better keep them at home...

Did you wear A&M gear to an LSU game vs SELA? If no, then its not the same situation.

And if you did wear a&m to an LSU vs SELA game, then you would deserve to be **** talked endlessly

A friend of mine took his young daughter to the Cotton Bowl against LSU...and sat in the LSU section. The LSU fans had her crying by the end of the game. After the game they got on the shuttle to go back to the hotel, and it was full of LSU fans. She refused to get on so they had to walked to their hotel.

That same young lady was on Kyle Field her Sr year celebrating the 7 OT victory of them. Whoop!

It was bad enough in Kyle last year - had a row of them sitting directly behind us cussing and drinking like fish and spitting all over us as they hooped and hollered it up. Then Marcel came in and shut them up. By Q4, they were long gone.

similar experience on a thanksgiving night game at kyle a while back. It's just insane to me how trashy and bold you'd have to be to go into another team's stadium, buy seats in the home section and cuss out the home team fans. Ordinarily, I'd have been throwing bows or close to it, but was stone cold sober with my aging mother in tow. I'm still in disbelief to this day.

Simply the worst fanbase in college or pro sports in the country.

No, I did not. The OP also has this option.

Where does the Aggie band and team walk in at? And time, is it so many hours before game?

That I'm not sure of. It was the LSU band that we watched, about two hours prior to kickoff. South side, across from the PMAC.

I took my family 2 years ago and had a great time. We met a guy in line for coffee that insisted we join his tailgate.

Super friendly crowd, little kids called us tiger bait and ran off laughing with their dads. It was wholesome and fun.

Had one old man curse at us beyond that one bad apple it was amazing. I say go

Would you be upset if your 6 & 8 year old came home screaming "Suck that tiger d*#k b*tch"?

They don't even play Neck anymore, but the students just throw it in there for fun.

My boys love football. They would love to see Mike the tiger. Am I crazy for considering going to this game with my 6 & 8 yr old sons? Never been to Tiger Stadium. Let me hear what you think.

You'll be fine. I've been every year since we joined the SEC and besides trash talking you, they won't do anything.

Last time we went, LSU fans were great. We also watched Johnny play bad and we got beat from the 1st quarter on.

Most likely we will show superior play in 1st half and by 2nd half the entire stadium will be empty.

I personally wouldn't be afraid. I heard how bad they were but my experience wasn't anything as described.

Not sure how many of those people giving you advice have actually attended a game.

It's a mix. Some of them are great . Some not . I absolutely would not take kids there that young but that's just me. If you go , go with the expectation not to be surprised by anything

Ice? They must have lightened up considerably!
In the fall of '72, standing in the end zone waiting to march, two pint bottles (empty of course) went whizzing past my ears. Several had full cups of soda dumped on them

Or perhaps the people who say they went and thought it was fine were too drunk to realize how bad it really is. Drunkenness dulls pain and senses.

I went to an Aggie game there with a couple that had season tickets that were LSU fans. I remember them all lining along the road and giving the finger and F bombing the FTAB. Then when the band was lined up before halftime in the end zone, they had large junks of ice thrown at them. Remember vividly watching a tuba getting dented from a large hunk of ice.
They cuss and are vulgar as hell if they see your an Aggie. This was in 1992 and we won 31-22 I think.
It was hot as hell also.
I swore I would never go back….and never have.
I did business in Louisiana and enjoyed calling on the people there. But LSU fans at the game…holy moly!

Did your car get messed up that year? That was the last time I went and there were so many cars with either Texas license plates and/or A&M stickers on them vandalized……Keyed, tires cut, windows/headlights/taillights busted, stuff stolen out of them……was so bad their university president wrote a letter to the Batt apologizing for their behavior. Not to mention getting all kinds of sh** thrown at you during the game.

that was my second and last time there. Never going back to that sh** hole again

College football games are not near as family friendly as they were back in the day, including Kyle Field.
Alcohol sales inside the stadium have about 95% to do with that. Its honestly pretty sad.

Having said that I took my kids to Baton Rouge in 2021 when they were 5 and 12 and we didn't have a single issue. Yeah you have to have a little thick skin but 99% is good natured ragging. Its to be expected.

FWIW, Alabama was way more of a problem than LSU was . When a drunk middle aged man throws an empty beer can at your 13 year old son at a red light...yeah you tend to lose your cool and react aggressively.

Alcohol is part of it. A small part. People at games have always been binge drinking prior. It's the number of fans plus it's not the SWC

I think some of you are discounting how annoying a 6 and an 8 year old can be. If the LSU fans are being a-holes, tell your kids they can have all the ice cream they want if they can sing the Paw Patrol theme song and Baby Shark 500 times in the next 3 hours.

We went to a game a few years ago. Nobody got violent on us, but there was a lot of condescending smack talk directed toward us in line all the way to our seats. It's easy to be tough when you're surrounded 10-1 by people that will take your side. Mostly seemed like current students or twenty somethings that hadn't been popped in the mouth yet.

I've attended two games at Death Valley and one doubleheader at the Box. Two of the three, I was with friends from Louisiana. All three times, I had a blast. You'll get called out and you'll get Tiger Bait talk. You will also get invited for the best food ever, more alcohol that you can consume in six months, and a lot of "over the top" banter. You'll also will hear quite a few "colorful words" that probably aren't suitable for small kids. None of that bothers me, I'm a retired HS coach - I can get along with anyone. If your that concerned about poor behavior, it's your prerogative to not take your kids. Anything they hear at any CFB game, they'll definitely hear again at another outing, somewhere down the line. Whatever you decide, remember it's not life or death, it's simply athletic entertainment. Good luck.

The most disgusting, vulgar experience in 50 years going to college football I've ever had at a football game was an Aggie in AC 2 at Kyle Field.
