Forecast for Saturday is looking bleak. Has anyone heard if game time might be moved up? We are making the trip, packing our ponchos.

Would surprise me if they moved it off a night slot in BR, but I don't know who ultimately makes that decision.

Both teams are off next Saturday. They could move the game to Nov 1st which would suck for us as the road team.

Assuming that decision is made by a combination of the athletic departments, field crews and SEC league office

Seems like a real chance the game gets moved to next week since both teams are on bye

Lets just cancel it. Worked out for several teams in 2020.

TV will nix that idea.

Exactly. Oh is state only needed 6 games to justify their place in the playoff.

Has that ever even happened. Extremely unlikely.

It's not supposed to be a thunderstorm. The game can be played in the rain.

Game is not getting moved to next week nor earlier in day. Way too many logistics at play. Its not realistic. Like last week if there are bad storms they'll be delayed or interrupted but try as much as possible to stick to original time .

Then why do all my weather apps have scattered thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday night in Baton Rouge?

AccuWeather has 50% chance of rain at 7pm and falling after that. Might be wet, but should be fine.

People acting like games aren't played in rain all the time. This game isn't getting moved.

In an SEC game. Doubtful.

But we did move the A&M-La Tech game in 2012 back several weeks because of a hurricane

Forecast I have seen for Saturday night is heavy thunderstorms and possible tornados (probably means clear skies and 70 degrees - ha!).

Aggie Band supposedly briefed that game time could be changed, for what that is worth.

Would be somewhat easy for ABC to just swap our game for 11 am Ole Miss-Oklahoma you would think, but maybe not.

Maybe LSU will just decide to forfeit due to weather. Coach Bill Curry refused to bring Alabama to College Station for a September game due to threat of a hurricane in late 80s. Weather turned out nice and I don't think the game was ever made up.

I've also heard that about the Aggie Band. Interesting. Would love an early kick if that's possible. Starting late with potential delays makes for a horrible experience for everyone involved. Very different from. 2 hour delay for a 2:30 start vs a night game.

Can confirm that the Aggie Band has been briefed about the possibility of an earlier kickoff. No time line of when that decision could be made.

It was made up later (perhaps early December). My first Aggie game.

Probably because it is the only profession where it pays to be wrong.

And it can only get worse when it's forecasted by Cajuns.

Exactly. Oh is state only needed 6 games to justify their place in the playoff.

Ohio State played in only 5 regular season games before the 2020 Big 10 Championship Game. Big Ten Conference rules established before the season specified that teams would need to complete at least six conference games in order to be eligible for the conference championship game. After Ohio State's game against Michigan was canceled, and Ohio State having only completed five games, the conference voted to change these rules and allow the undefeated Ohio State team to represent the East Division. The conference cited the fact that Ohio State would have won the division with either a win or loss against Michigan.

And as I recall, Bama had a key starter (RB maybe?) injured and not able to play on the original scheduled date who was healthy on the re-scheduled date. And the weather on the original date was sunny enough for girls to be sunbathing outside The Commons.

Both teams have their second bye weeks scheduled for next Saturday. If the game is rescheduled for next Saturday, we would play back-to-back road games at LSU on 11/1 and Missouri on 11/8. Also, LSU does not want to sacrifice their bye week before playing at Alabama on 11/8. Alabama and LSU football traditionally tried to have a bye week before playing each other to allow for rest and preparation for the highly anticipated matchup.

That's why I don't think the game will get rescheduled. If there is a thunderstorm, the game will be delayed or interrupted, but the SEC league office, athletic department, and field crews will try to stick to the original time as much as possible.

I think it was their starting QB ... and the weather was quite nice that day, lol. In the makeup game in December we were without Bucky who had been injured in the Texas game.

Internet says you're right - it was their starting QB David Smith. Also says there was 0.00 inches of rain on Sep. 17, 1988 (the original date) and a high of 96 degrees.

If memory serves, not only were we without Bucky but, it was known that Sherrill was out…did he even coach the game? We were very flat.

I haven't looked at the weather too closely, but how early would it have to be to avoid the bad weather? Looks like 11:00a wouldn't necessarily make it.

There is absolutely NO WAY this game gets moved to next week because of a chance of thunderstorms.
