I wish Klein well.

I do wonder how good he would have become if he stayed at A&M a little longer.

We're about to find out if it was Klein finding all of the good portal talent for us. I hope it's someone who is staying at A&M.

We're also going to see if Elko can deliver another good/great OC.

Awesome. 2026 will be terrible.

We had a great 2025 and now we are back to BAS'ing again.

Why are people shocked? Happens when you have good program and good people within the program.

Im sure Elko has an OC lined up and ready to step in.

Why you say that? He was a good OC, but nothing great. We will definitely find a better one.

Any current offensive staff going with him?

I hate comments like this. What makes you so qualified to come to this conclusion? Just because he hasn't been a head coach yet doesn't mean he isn't ready to be a head coach. Everyone has to start somewhere. Did you say the same thing when Duke hired Elko?

Klein seems like a high character guy. I hope he does well at KSU.

I love Kleiman. I hope people pay attention this. A 58 year old guy that is fed up with the direction of college football. He's such a great coach and fit for a program like KSU. College football lost a good one today.

This. And this is me being nice. He was okay at calling plays, but set us up for failure often. Need someone who understands moving the chains with strategic calls and not going for broke on short yardage.

zero percent chance he stays through the playoffs. He's going to be the HC not a damn OC. Especially with signing day. I'd expect he's already on a plane as I type this.

Haven't reviewed signing day updates, but a couple WRs could be in jeopardy as they were attached to Klein and his offensive scheme (think like 24 verbals have signed, but didn't check if a couple WRs have pulled the signature yet). But, sort of moot as they can back out at any time anyway.

The 2026 recruiting page above shows they've all signed.

and they all could still transfer.

NIL allocations say otherwise

The way a lot of these guys complain about an 11-1 playoff team makes me think there are a lot of sip trolls on here.

I guess K State is just identifying themselves as a stepping stone program where young coaches go to cut their teeth. Ok. Good luck to CK and them.

He might not know everything needed to be a HC, but I'm pretty sure working boosters and media obligations won't be a problem. Just spent a week in Manhattan KS (in-laws live within walking distance of KSU) and Klein is still worshiped in that town. I assumed he would be HC there someday soon, but was hoping it would be another year or two at least.

Really hope none of the offensive recruits that just signed were kept in the dark. That would be a very bad look. I'm sure they were informed yesterday - last night. Hope so.

I seriously doubt players/recruits are willing to flip to KSU with Klein.

Why does it really matter? LOI letters are worth the paper they are printed on, players can leave whenever they want and don't really think they are committing to a school or to a lesser extent acoach, they are committing to the highest bidder...every single year.

Gotta start somewhere and I don't think these things are overly complicated. When you do a job long enough, you tend to pick up a lot of stuff from the bottom to the top.

This was probably the only job on the face of the Earth that he would've taken this year. It just sucks it happened this year. Wish him the best, I'm glad he is staying until we play our last down this year. I haven't heard any news about who our next guy will be. So here are my potential candidates from just sitting here and not thinking too deep into it

Tim Beck: Vanderbilt OC
Mack Leftwich: Texas Tech OC
Buster Faulkner: South Alabama OC

Now that he's done interviewing, maybe now his head can get back to A&M football. It's not a bad situation as Kleiman will still coach through the playoffs for KState. They don't actually need Klein to do much the next few weeks.

I hate comments like this. Learning things takes time. Damn kids come right out of school thinking they know everything when they don't know squat. Maybe to some of you kids Klein is old. To the rest of us, he is still a kid himself. Elko had been in coaching for 22-23 years before he got a head coaching gig. Klein has about a decade. You aren't ready to be the CEO of McDonalds because you have been the regional manager for 2 years.
