10-2 Bama was in, so if you chunk 10-3 Bama out, you're incentivizing missing the championship game (because A&M, Ole Miss & OU will all be in after MISSING the game).
If that happens to the B10 or the SEC, they'll burn the CFP to the ground.
Ohio State missed their conference championship game last year.
UGA missed the '21 conference championship game.
'bama missed the '11 &'17 conference championship game.

We are seeing right before our eyes, the flaws of the stupid tie breaker scenarios in all these conferences. Bama at 2 losses should not be in this title game when you have 2 other 1 loss teams in the conference to choose from.
Miami is in the same boat and will probably get screwed over by all of this. I don't think there's any question in my mind that Miami and Notre Dame should both be in ahead of Alabama.
As for our purposes, since we're locked in at 7, it's probably best for us this blowout continues, so we faced Miami or Bama.
Going forward, the 2 title game participants need to be based off of some sort of rankings and not dumb tie breakers that have no context for the facts. For example, LSU ended up 7-5 making our strength of schedule look like crap, when in reality, we're the reason WHY they looked like crap this year quitting on their coach.

Highly likely that Alabama is playing at Kyle Field in a couple of weeks, so hold that thought.

What's the point of having them if they are completely meaningless?

Agree but gettiing each of the P4 conferences to agree that OOC games do count when determining who goes to the CCG is a fool's errand. Plus that would affect any meaningful OOC games.

Used to be a lot of $$$$ in TV revenue but now? To the money folks, maybe ditching the CCGs and going for additional playoff games yields more $$$$$$$$$$$$?

I think the big four conferences will get rid of them. The smaller schools will want that extra quality win for their champion.
It depends on the television contracts for each conference. Don't know the status of current contracts.
