Miami would beat the Ags in their brackets

Cubelic thinks Miami's secondary will be the difference maker as he thinks they can match the speed of our WRs. I'm not so sure about that

Scratch's QBR is a tad better than Reed's, but is one dimensional and can't run the ball

If Le'Veon plays and can get us consistent conversions in short yardage situations together with EJ, we should win.

If they load the box against the run and force Marcel to play pocket passer QB, we'll likely struggle to move the ball.

And their offense is good enough to be a problem, especially if our offense sputters and forces our defense to stay on the field majority of the game.

Establish the run and stop the run is the key for the Ags.

We're going to have to put pressure on Beck. That's when he makes mistakes. If we go with a 4 man front and give him time, he'll carve us up.

I think we are going to have trouble moving the ball against their DL, and I think they will be able to run on our defense unless we make some scheme changes. Will be a tough game for us.

Most everyone I've heard or read about is predicting Miami to win. When you look bad in your last regular season game of the year, that's what people remember. They don't think about the ND, LSU, and Mizzou road wins during the season.

Two bad halves are driving all of this. Marcel and defense were playing tight and pressing. Elko has almost 2 more weeks to fix leverage/alignment issues. This will end up like LSU game and media will be jumping back on bandwagon.

I'll get booed out of here but I think we're gonna get whipped

I was confident we were gonna handle the sips after the Carolina scare. We know how that went. Sark spanked Klein and Elko.
Miami will be the most talented team we play this year behind t.u.
We're at home, hopefully everyone is healthy, and Cristobal makes some baffling decisions in big games. I'm hoping to be proved wrong and will gladly eat crow but the sip game broke me. Team is trending in the wrong direction.

We'll be able to move the ball and score with balance imo. May have to spread them out before we have success between the tackles . They'll use the Texas model to attack our defense - run wide . I think it'll be a close game and will come down to turnovers

Picking Bama to beat OU, even if OU is currently favored by 1, doesn't feel like an upset to anyone. The talking heads can't just pick chalk and nobody is taking Tulane or JMU. That leaves Miami as the 'bold' upset pick.

If we play aggressive on defense I don't see Beck being able to handle Kyle Field.

its more than that

its 2 bad halves out of the last 4.

lots of data pointing to the fact that the ags might have peaked too early. we shall see

It's going to be just like the texas game: which QB doesn't make dumb mistakes and bad throws.

man i am glad our team doesn't think the same way our posters do. this has everything to do with us. we are playing at home. we play our A game we can beat anyone. if miami were a juggernaut they don't lose to SMU and Louisville. they are a good team that has shown flashes. pressure beck and he will make a mistake. let kyle field do its job.

ags win and move on. close lower scoring game.

This is how I see the matchup with Miami. The key to the winning is us having success running the ball. We need the offensive line and RBs to play with great physicality, not like the last couple SEC games. If the offense stalls and we are forced into third and long often then it will play right into Miami's strengths. I think our defense will give up explosives like they have all season so the offense has to play well. If we run the ball well then we will control the game and win.

4 man rush is what Elko did against tu in the second half. He also kind of dodged the question about pressuring Beck. He must not be confident about our secondary.

We were averaging 4.5 yards per carry with Smith and Owens. It wasn't that we couldn't run. It's that we didn't run.

Yes we need the play caller to stay committed to the run, I agree and everyone that saw the tu game does too. But Owens did not have a good game and EJ needs more carries. I didn't see a lot of push by the oline against texas or south carolina. They've played much better earlier in the season and that's what we need against Miami.

The problem I've seen in the games where we run it 20 times (SCar and texas) instead of 28+ is that we don't get a chance to pop off the longer runs. We also fall behind, necessitating the pass. Had we run the damn ball in the 3rd, I'm not sure texas ever gets the lead and we win an ugly game on the road. Instead we went pass happy on the first two drives to go 3 and out, and they take advantage.

Agree that Smith needs to be the lead back if Moss isn't coming back

Well pressure on the QB is how you cover up a weak secondary. They might connect on a few, but if you consistently apply pressure you should be able to hold them down enough to win

Gonna say it once: They didn't even make it to the ACC Championship. Duke did.

We destroy them at Kyle.

I think we can absolutely beat Miami. That said, I would make two points:

1, when has A&M ever made it easy?
and 2, and this is strictly my opinion, I think there are only 2 teams in the playoffs who couldn't get to the semi-finals or play for the NC, that being Tulane and James Madison. The jury is out on Tech, but I would point out that everyone assumed Arizona State would be an easy out last year and they very nearly made it and took sip to double OT.

With the exception of the 2 schools I mentioned, every team in the bracket deserves to be there, and I don't know that anybody except for those 2 is going to get destroyed.

Hope I'm wrong and we beat Miami 42-10, but I think it (and the rest of playoffs) will be very tight games.

They gave up 365 passing yds to SMU. SMU have speedy receivers?
