I was confident we were gonna handle the sips after the Carolina scare. We know how that went. Sark spanked Klein and Elko.
Miami will be the most talented team we play this year behind t.u.
We're at home, hopefully everyone is healthy, and Cristobal makes some baffling decisions in big games. I'm hoping to be proved wrong and will gladly eat crow but the sip game broke me. Team is trending in the wrong direction.

I'm with you.

Too many years of watching us s*** the bed in circumstances like this.

The only thing that gives me hesitation saying that is the fact that we are playing at home.

But of course, our 1-10 home record with gameday says that we really don't have a home field advantage.

Go watch the SMU game.

QB runs
HUNH (U does not sub the front 4 that much, less than most)
Quick passes, screens, roll outs and TE
The deep bs will not be there that often.

Just do the opposite of horn game.

What was our record at LSU before this? How about against ranked P5 teams on the road? What is the Ags record at Kyle.

I get that most Aggies that post on Texags secretly love when the Ags are bad, but to ignore the fact that the best road team Miami played this year was SMU, and they lost, is absolutely wild to me.

Everybody talks about SC and Texas, but don't seem to want to talk about Louisville or SMU.

Only one P5 team in the playoffs has a worse SOS than Miami (45th), and that's tech (54), and everybody seems to think they are going to get boat raced by Oregon.

Guess which P5 CFP team has the worst SOR?

Miami (14).

The Big 12 (at least pre-season, can't find any current rankings) was ranked higher than the ACC this year.

So, why is tceh overrated and going to get crushed, but Miami isn't?

I guess it depends on how you define "established the run". Here are the games this season where A&M rushed for 200+ yards.

Versus LSU: 224
Versus Mizzou: 243
MSST: 299
Auburn: 207
Arkansas: 217

I tried to Google home games with GameDay on campus and only came up with 9 games. And we were 1-8 in those games. Seven of those we were playing a team ranked above us, 3 times we played a ranked team while we were unranked. Five times we were playing a team ranked 1, 2 or 3.

In games were we were the higher ranked team we were 1-1, beating #9 Tenn (we were #8), and losing to #7 Colorado (we were #3).

Average loss was 5.6 pts. Largest loss (twice) by 10 points.

If they load the box against the run and force Marcel to play pocket passer QB, we'll likely struggle to move the ball.

And their offense is good enough to be a problem, especially if our offense sputters and forces our defense to stay on the field majority of the game.

This is how I see the matchup with Miami. The key to the winning is us having success running the ball. We need the offensive line and RBs to play with great physicality, not like the last couple SEC games. If the offense stalls and we are forced into third and long often then it will play right into Miami's strengths. I think our defense will give up explosives like they have all season so the offense has to play well. If we run the ball well then we will control the game and win.

We were averaging 4.5 yards per carry with Smith and Owens. It wasn't that we couldn't run. It's that we didn't run.

I'll take this a step further...its really the play callling. Yes, we needed to call more run plays. But what did we call on our pass plays? A lot of intermediate and deep routes.
Texas wanted to keep marcel in the pocket. Its where he can get happy feet and loses accuracy. what helped them with that is we were running plays/routes that take longer.
Slants....quick hits to the flats....quick outs to the TE.....or quickly clear one side and have RB out in the flat. These types of plays get the ball out of Reeds hands quickly and puts our athletes in space.

Other options...bootleg Reed so he can run or pass. Screens....both RB and WR

Especially if you call some of these on 1st down and even if they get 5 yards that's the same as a good run.

We win easy if the 2nd half A&M vs SC team shows up

We fold easy if 1st half SC/tu A&M team shows up

Elko's job is to induce the team's best at appropriate time and consistency...

I was about to post the same. And one more game we had around 187 years so I'd count that.

So basically we established the run in 1/2 our games.

Look let's be honest we got ****ed in the CFP rankings. We should have been the 5th seed or at worst 6th seed playing Tulane or JMU. It's clear that if we don't run the table we will never be top 4 and make no mistake had we been 12-0 and lost to Bama for 20+ points we would have dropped out of the top 4.

We **** the bed. They beat us. And we looked pretty bad in the loss.
I'm supposed to take solace that we got beat by 10 points but only trailed them by 50 yards of offense?

Playing four solid quarters will enable the Ags to beat any team in the CFP. It hasn't happened through 12 games. Let's hope the boys reach the top of the learning curve in # 13.

ML is now at -192.

On top of that, the spread moved from -3.5 to -4, even though 67% of the handle is on Miami (according to VSIN).

It looks like sharp money is betting on the Ags (at least from my limited betting knowledge. Open to a smarter/better interpretation).

We're going to have to put pressure on Beck. That's when he makes mistakes. If we go with a 4 man front and give him time, he'll carve us up.

Yep, Beck is very good..... much better than Reed in both long and short-yardage passes, even though Reed may have the advantage in running... if he decides to in the first place.

I'm very concerned Miami is going to beat us at home.... that would be so "Aggie Football".... and it would be consistent with our last 85+ years of mediocrity. Hope it doesn't happen, but won't be surprised it if does..

This. A&M's path to victory is basket case Beck. If Beck plays well, I don't think Reed has enough accuracy to overcome Miami's defensive talent.
