No. We achieved nothing. And regressed by the end of the season.

We were lucky that our schedule was easy.

You basically explained it perfectly. We lost to tu, didn't make our conference champ, didn't win any games outside of the regular season and its our 3rd best year in a quarter century!

Hang the banner!!!!

Lol. You were ok until that trite and stupid final sentence

Beer is exactly right and shows that a lot of you all or nothing types never worked on a team with goals or strove for anything that really counts. You can shoot for the stars, fall a bit short, and still be successful.

Double digit win seasons are always considered successful.

11-2 is normally a great season, when you lose your last two games getting dominated by your rival and then dominated at home in front of 105K fansit just leaves a bad feeling that doesn't go away quickly.

Did Texas have a better season? Most here say yes. So so myopic.

They beat both of their rivals, one being ranked #3, and won their bowl game.

The difference is they lost to Florida, a team we blasted. 11-2 > 10-3

Nope - not successful, no conference championship or even conference championship game appearance, pitiful showing against tu and sad playoff effort - will soon be forgotten since nothing happened except a cool 11 win record.

And turns out the team we lost to in the playoffs (just barely) was really, really good.

Seriously, many of you need to get a different hobby.

Well, we did give the coach a gigantic raise and extension. So there's that.

I don't know what the team goals were.

I really want to say it was but my heart says no.

Explain.

This is entirely the wrong question. The question is NEVER how great are you. The question should ALWAYS be how do you improve.

If we are a team that looks at our past wins and pats ourselves on the head for the wins, someone else will beat you. Always. That's exactly when we lose. Right when we start drinking our koolaid.

Because at the end of the day what do we get if the answer to "Are we a successful football team" is yes? Absolutely nothing. Not a single thing.

We end up in exactly the same place. To use a golf analogy don't look the scorecard, it will just screw up your game.

Focus on what's next and that alone.
