11-2 is a great season

the Ags played 6 big time programs this year:

Notre Dame
Auburn
Florida
LSU
Miami
t.u.

and went 4-2

and avoided upset losses to mid-tier programs we expect A&M to always be better than:

Arkansas, Missouri, South Carolina, and State

A&M did not play 6 big time programs this year. LSU, Florida, and Auburn were a combined 16-20. That's mediocre to bad.

We went 1-2 against teams with a pulse. Thats not good. That's mediocre.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

You can only choke if you had a great season to begin with. Most year 2 programs are ass. Absolutely a great season and we are headed in the right direction.

Successful and disappointing. Collapsed at year-end in the two most important games of the season. "Finish" became "Fail" and G.R.I.N.D. became B.I.O.Y.A.

The upside is Elko has two weeks to work the portal full-time instead of game planning for OSU

We'll see what happens.

Anyone who says no is a dumbass. Every single person on this site thought 9-3 or worse was the ceiling for this team.

We went 11-2 beat a top 10 team on the road, won in Baton Rouge for the first time in forever, won 11 games for the first time in forever.

All of this in our head coaches second season. The people *****ing the loudest picked us to be 7-5 at best.

11-2 > 8-5.

Last time we won > 10? 2012…the 90's against the mighty SWC

Successful.

When the regular season ended, we still had a chance to win the national championship. That hasn't happened in any of our lifetimes. So it was a successful season in the fact that you played well enough to make the playoffs. The team won all the games it had to in order to make the playoffs for the first time.

From a more analytical perspective, it was a very flawed season.

The offense didn't seem capable of adjusting when something wasn't working.

They refused to deploy a power running game with a speedy QB despite having the personnel to do so.

Our terrible punting game was overshadowed by our even more terrible kicking game. Big time colleges need a guy whose nails from 45 and closer and is viable from 50 and closer. Every time they put that "field goal" range graphic on TV when we were on offense, you just had to laugh.

We also had one of the best skill players the team has seen in the past 25 years in KC Concepcion and only got him the ball 71 times (61 catches,10 rushes) in 13 games. That's not even 6 touches on offense per game. With an above-average QB, he would have been a Heisman contender.

We lost to the sips again in game that meant everything to our future in season and nothing to theirs. Got outcoached by a guy that most of us view as a world-class idiot.

And now the expectation is playoffs every year. Will the program respond or will this be an aberration? Next year after the cupcake game gets interesting right away with Arizona State at Kyle on 9/12, Kentucky visiting on 9/19, and then at LSU on 9/26. If we struggle to close like we did in 2025, it's going to get ugly down the stretch: 11/14 vs. Tennesssee; 11/21 @ Oklahoma; 11/27 home for sip

11-2 in Elko's second season and made the playoffs. At least we're trending in the right direction. Let's see who we gain vs lose in the off season.

It's all downhill from here.

Seriously. Just being a realist. 11-2 is stellar. And we're whining. SO when we go 9-3, or 8-4 next year, it's gonna be pitchforks.

Great things, dynasties, team culture takes time.
