Amen. We need winners mentality around here!

Can you explain through statistics how our offense was crap? Or is this just through your eyeball test?
I'll explain it in simple statistics. I know most ags suffer from mental diseases when it comes to football
We've played 3 games the last 2 years where the winner gets a chance to play for a trophy. These are the games that matter
A trophy is what you get when you win your conference or a national championship
We are 0-3 in these important games. The offense has scored 27 total points in those games. 9 points per game in the real games is really crap and almost impossible to win. 7 of those points (26%) were scored by the defense.
The QB in those games has 0 touchdowns and 7 turnovers. That's really crap. Turnovers are the worst thing anoffensequarterback can do

FIFY...how are bad throws that result in turnovers the fault of the "offense"?
So marcellus performance is the fault of an analyst who did not coach him this year? You know nothing about him. Who is your home run hire that is available?RecklessAg said:BayAg_14 said:
Promoting internally for a QB coach after the way Marcel performed is a terrible choice. Really needed home run hire there.

Don't forget the throws way behind the receivers! Those were my favorite and we were treated to several of them a game.
By and large, the lemmings are still in love with Reed for his 2024 performance vs. LSU. It's time for people to realize that could well have been LSU being bad, not Reed being great.
Mid-tier QBs win from time to time, doesn't mean they're the primary reason for the win

Marcel wasn't the primary reason we won that LSU game? News to me!
Marcel has things to clean up, for sure, but if you have not seen flashes of greatness from him this year and last, you either are not watching or just want to ***** about stuff online.

After watching the Ole Miss / UGA game, it's pretty clear that Reed is nowhere near what Chambliss and Stockton are. Both have great field vision, amazing intuition about when to pass and run, good (if not great) arms, good footwork, and a terrific ability to fake and improvise. Reed has none of those qualities. Plus, for some reason, Reed has the jitters to the point that he freezes. I'm not sure that a QB coach can cure any of Reed's issues. So glad we didn't play Ole Miss or Georgia. We would've been destroyed.

Definitely, but the flashes show you what the potential can be.
Marcel made a leap from 2024 to 2025 and I think he can improve more next season.
There have been a number of quarterbacks that have continued to make strides throughout their college careers.
Jayden Daniels is a great example.
Gunner Stockton improved from last year.
Hell, I have mentioned a few times that Carson Beck has not done a ton during the playoffs this year, but he has Miami in the semifinals right now.

I like Marcel. I hope with Klein exiting they can play call more to his strengths what ever the heck that means...

Regardless, I'm not in love with these offense hires. And I'm a staunch Elko defender. It would be one thing if our offense has been elite and the strategy was to retain that identity. But I was really hoping for an infusion of new philosophies/perspectives.

Dude, what else do you base it on?
Do you think we are just going to steal a national championship winning QB from another school?
At this point, all most of these guys are is potential lol

There's plenty to be upset with re: Klein and the O because of the last 2 games but I noticed something as the season progressed.
Earlier in the year, it seems the playcalling was LOTS more unpredictable. By the end of the season I felt like our playbook was down to around 20 different plays. It's almost like whatever didn't work early was trashed. It doesn't take a genius level DC to figure that out. That Xs and Os problem compounded our Jimmy and Joes problem Elko mentioned several times over the season....our schemes on both sides of the ball were mostly on point but our failures game when plays broke down or -one- guy on D made the wrong read. Hell broke loose when our physical talent wasn't enough to overcome mental mistakes.
No idea if I'm right, just a hunch...but it looked to me that by the texas and miami games...I could almost predict the exact play just by looking at the set and motion/lack of. Marcel is a perfectly adequate QB to run our offense when a) he's 100% healthy, b)he's got the time to read through progressions and c) given a wider range of plays. By the end of the season when we played really good defensive teams...he maybe had time for a primary read and then either run or check down route. Dinged up Marcel doesn't want to run as much and it seems like our check down route vs texas and miami was always a receiver standing 2 yards behind the LOS picking his nose.
I am hoping against all hope that Wiggins calls a more innovative game. Klein was conservative 95% of the time (which was fine! And it mostly worked!) and WTF the other 5%. I think it would be a terrible idea to change schemes and nomenclatures at this point...Wiggins has all of that knowledge in his head since he's been coaching it for the last 2 seasons. Maybe we'll mix in some simple wheel or angle routes as check downs. Let him cook up the playbook and make the calls and let's see what happens. If that doesn't work out next year, then we'll fire everyone.

KC and Craver aren't potentially good, they ARE good. Same for Moss and ABR really. Zuhn, Bisontis, and Reed-Adams aren't world-beaters, but they've also actualized their potential.
Why is Reed in his 3rd year of college getting measured with a different stick?

FYI: Indiana hasn't signed a five-star player straight out of high school in program history. The Hoosiers have only two former four-stars in the starting lineup receivers E.J. Williams and Omar Cooper Jr. while all but four of Alabama's starters had a four-star ranking or higher.
This year's Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza was part of the same 2022 signing class as Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson. Mendoza was a two-star recruit and ranked No. 2,149 (No. 140 quarterback) while Simpson was ranked 26th overall and No. 4 quarterback in the class
It's the heart and the coaching not the stars…
