Do the new rules allow people who didnt get drafted to come back? It would be helpful with Sanford now injured.

Yes, a college football player with remaining eligibility who goes undrafted can return to college to play, provided they did not hire a non-NCAA-certified agent or sign a professional contract.

Edit: My search found the olds rules. Apparently this no longer the case.

Seems like NIL money would be better

Not true for NFL draft. Although if someone wanted to fight that, they probably could win.

I hope so.

He's not someone I'm worried about after he hangs up his cleats. He should have a long coaching career if he wants it and even if he doesn't, he'll find success.

He will definitely be successful. If he was just 2 inches taller and 15 lbs. heavier . . . . .

But he could have made a lot more in NIL than he will as an undrafted free agent.

Maybe it's not about the money. Maybe he was following a dream knowing he's pretty much peaked so why not try for it

Arian Foster was undrafted out of Tennessee and is still the best RB the Texans have ever had. York just needs the right situation. Players can be better off as UFA vs late 7th round picks.

Uh, care to disagree. He definitely could have.

I think he is a great young man and represented our school well. That said Elko has continually stated that he wants to recruit and develop NFL talent..

-More than 20 linebackers were drafted over the last three days. Neither one of ours were..
- Our linebacker coach/ defensive coordinator, took a "lateral job" at an inferior school.

It would be fair to deduce that Elko felt that we lacked both the talent and the coaching at that position to be successful. At the very least next year, we will be as productive as we were last year at this position. Most likely, we will be better next year with the kids we have and the coaching they will receive.

Most of what he lacked was speed

Speed was not an issue. He ran a good 40. Plenty fast enough

IMO, four to five inches of additional height would be benefical. His frame is maxed out to maintain a weight allowing him to play SEC LBer. This impacts his quickness and speed. He doesn't get trucked but becomes a liability due to the aforementioned drop off in speed and quickness. To mitigate this issue, he studies film and anticipates plays with an extremely high football IQ. York is a tremendously gifted football mind and works extremely hard at his craft. He will be a great coach and/or corporate worker. With that said, he will struggle to make an NFL roster outside of practice squad for a few years. Serous question, why did he declare for the draft?

Weren't you here convincing us he was a top 4 round pick? It's okay. We all miss sometimes.

He definitely was. The phrase "one of the top LB in the draft" was also thrown around

Another year of college wasn't going to give him longer arms. Really appreciative of his efforts here but I think for both himself and the growth of our defense, it was time.

And I think he can make a nfl roster as a special teams guy and backup.

Yes i was convinced he would be picked. I underestimated his size being that big of a factor. He graded out better than guys picked in round 4.

Exactly. He was a little undersized with short arms. That was his biggest downfall.

Amazes me how much Aggies **** on their own. As far as size and speed, does Jonathan Vilma ring a bell? Dude was 6' 232 ran a 4.55. York is 6' 230 ran a 4.53. Stop with the bs already.

York didn't run the 40 at the combine and had the slowest agility scores in every other metric for LBers. He's too slow. NFL gms know it

Dont you think if he was really wanted back he would be back. Bateman is gone and he was his main supporter. He seems like a good kid but he was highly overrated and small and slow.
