G said in an interview today that each school's allotment was increased from 150 to 175 for this round. Maybe they added some bleacher seats. I have not seen any info on tickets.

Here's the semifinals schedule. Times are ET.

No. 1 Florida State vs. Virginia | May 13 | 6 p.m.
No. 2 North Carolina vs. No. 11 Santa Clara | May 13 | 8:30 p.m.

An oddity for Florida State is that they did not play a single game between the ACC Tournament Championship (November 15) and their 2nd round NCAA Tournament Game (May 1).

Conversely, Santa Clara played all of this season's games in 2021 (Feb 27 - April 3).

Virginia hit the crossbar in the first half against FSU but the ball bounced almost straight down but away from the goal. And then Virginia missed all 3 of their kicks in the shootout so FSU advances after a 0-0 draw. Santa Clara, who we opened with in 2019, beat UNC 3-1.

UNC had not given up a goal all spring until last night. First two goals came from terrible defensive miscues.

They had some miscues but Santa Clara seemed to get to every 50/50 ball. The commentary focused on their forwards' technical ability, but I was also impressed with their athleticism.

Chris Henderson of All White Kit wrote this before the UNC game:

FSU scored 3 goals in each of their first 2 tournament games and none since.

Did not play many games and even fewer va quality opponents. That stat has been exaggerated

UNC's backline was a disaster for sure. Wish they would have played like that against us. Santa Clara is in a groove right now and they are much more talented than I thought. Really controlled segments of that match with their possession and more physical than the Tar Heels. They wanted it more. Scoring 3 goals on UNC is a big deal. I like the Broncos' chances against a flat FSU squad that should have lost to Virginia. They just haven't played enough matches lately to be at their best. I don't think I've ever seen a team miss 3 PKs in a row and lose the shootout 3-0, but UVA found a way to do it. Although watching the FSU GK come off her line early on each shot was pretty unfair and not called by the ref.

FSU was in complete control up 1-0 but a back pass miscue gave Santa Clara their first look of the half. Tied it up 1-1 with 7 minutes left.

Should that have been a red card on the FSU player for tackling the Santa Clara player? It wasn't quite a breakaway but given the time left in the game and it being Santa Clara"s best player?

Gotta hand it to SCU. It's not the prettiest style, but they are very organized and sure are good at taking advantage of your mistakes. Punished UNC twice in the semifinal and did the same tonight against a team who had around 70% of the possession.

Nah. Yellow was the right call.

Very hard to win in 3 shootouts. Congrats to Santa Clara. They earned it.

Perfectly executed game plan for SCU. Punish one mistake and make all your penalties.
