FSU was in complete control up 1-0 but a back pass miscue gave Santa Clara their first look of the half. Tied it up 1-1 with 7 minutes left.

What could go wrong playing out the back?
Too soon.

I'm just upset it wasn't Santa Cruz who won the title.

We could use a team who has a mascot that are the Banana Slugs.

The good old scrappin' banana slugs.

Texas A&M is ranked #5 in the final (postseason) national ranking of women's college soccer by Top Drawer Soccer.

Santa Clara had a brilliant College Cup performance in both semis and final. Took advantage of UNC and FSU mistakes and then converted them for goals. They also have talent, especially at forward. That senior forward calmly scored the tying goal and then gave them momentum in the PK shootout. She won them the title. Good to see a program outside of the usual suspects win the title.

The senior you are referring to, Kelsey Turnbow, scored a goal against us in 2019 and also played on Ellis Field when we beat them 4-0 in 2018.

They got my attention in the Sweet Sixteen. They were the sleeper team for the College Cup. Well coached and talented players equal championships.
