We looked good. If Nuno can unlock ndombele we may open up a lot of creativity. He was great today.

I haven't looked at the weeks ahead, but the past few games have all been during church. I haven't been able to watch one. We need more Saturday games.

You might have adopted the wrong team - Tottenham historically plays more Sunday games especially home games because of their predominantly Jewish following historically in that area.

That where the word (sometimes considered a slur) Yids comes from for their fans. Originally a derogatory term Spurs fans adopted it as a moniker and made it into something they consider positive and even have a yell using the word.

Anyway because of their Jewish following they play more weekend home games on Sunday - not Saturday the Jewish sabbath.

Are you sure that's why? We have had plenty of Saturday games in the past. Right now we're all Sunday because the European contest we're in is on Thursdays.

As much as I would like to see them play, I still love following Tottenham. I have been for the past few years. I am more involved with church now so I just now may be noticing not getting to watch as many games.

Yes I'm sure. It's always been that way for home games. We play many more Sunday matches than any other team and it is not because of the Euro Conference League as it has been true in past seasons. It might now be true for both home and road games because of that though.

I don't know how long everyone has been watching Spurs but its so common I know I often had to work around church and watching soccer in the morning and football in the afternoons on Sundays in the fall.

Newcastle fan here. Just wanted to say that Reguilon and Dier's reaction to the situation at hand was amazing. Huge appreciation to them as their actions may have helped saved the fans life. Sad about the result but ultimately a life was saved.

Pretty amazing all things considered. kudos to dier and requillon for quick actions. has anything like this ever happened in american sports? i cant recall play on the field being halted/stopped due to a medical emergency in the stands.

That article doesn't even contain the word Sunday...

didn't say it did it's just explaining the jewish history of the fanbase.

It's common knowledge that's why they play more Sunday home games. Always has been. The Euro Conference games might be affecting road games on weekends pushing more of those to Sunday. But we've always had more of our home games on Sundays.

The Jewish fanbase is common knowledge. Your post was the first I ever heard about us playing on Sunday to avoid the Sabbath, whereas it is common knowledge among EPL fans that if you play in Europe on Thursdays, you'll be playing most of your EPL games on Sundays to avoid playing twice in three days.

Sure so explain why we played home games on Sundays more often since I started watching in 2007.

Because this years Euro Conference games are Thurs but previous years Europa or CL games were not on Thurs they were on Tues or Wed and we still played most of our home games on Sundays.

As I said the only thing that has changed this year is playing more of our road games on Sundays also and THAT is because of Euro Conference games.

We play more home games on Sunday because of the Jewish fanbase and the Sabbath on Saturday. Sorry you don't know this but it's true.

The only Tottenham fan I know from London, is not Jewish. So, this is not true. Thanks for playing.

So Tottenham plays on Sundays to cater to the 5% of the fan base that is Jewish? That seems a little odd. I'd wager it has more to do with European football than it does the make up of the fanbase.

Well, you've provided no evidence that this is true. On the other hand, here's the 2016 schedule:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016%E2%80%9317_Tottenham_Hotspur_F.C._season

Here's a 2016 calendar:

https://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/?country=1&year=2016

I only did the first few months, but there were hardly any Sunday games in there. The ratio makes sense because there are more Saturday games than Sunday games in the EPL. I picked 2016 because that's the season I started watching EPL, and fell in love with Tottenham.

Is it really so hard to say "Looks like I was mistaken"? Come on, man, we're all Ags here.

I've only ever said they have MORE Sunday games than other teams. Showing that most are on Saturday is not proof of anything. We would need to see how many Sunday they have had vs other teams. That's the relevant part. I don't care to research it.

I don't need proof anyway I don't care that much. But as for my evidence it isn't based on an article so I cannot post a link. It is based on a conversation in a pub in England before a match and Spurs supporters telling me that was why they had more Sunday games. If the random "bloke" in a bar was wrong well ok my bad.

EDIT - I did not go to a match, never been to one but that was why. It was a Sunday and I had a flight back and could only see the first half before heading to the airport. I had lamented to these Spurs supporters that I could not see a match in person because they played on Sunday that week and one of them offered that explanation.

Hey...so.. um

Hard to not get excited about this. May be one of only a couple managers that might get Harry properly motivated.
