Brooks need to not play again, the fact that he gave up on the run for Honduras's goal…I wanted him yanked then. Berhalter gave him the courtesy of the half, but both goals in this cycle were his not getting back. And that's before his kick and a parapet approach last game and the first part of this one.
All in all, five points given this was their first cycle for most of them, two on the road in Central America…I'll take it.
Much better shape than this time last qualifying so I'll take it. Just hope everyone is healthy in a month.

If we play 3 in the back again, it HAS to be with Adams at the 6 with 2 players in front of him centrally...and ideally one of those players with the ability to progress the ball off the dribble, both confident to handle the ball while being pressed.

The goal is to get to the point where a lot of our starting lineup is based on who is playing well going into the Qualifying window and into the World Cup imo. So we are choosing between good players, playing well, and then have the ability to bring in impact players off the bench.

Brooks is usually so good in the air and smart playing the ball out, but his lack of pace/recovery speed is scary and he flat out didn't track the runner vs Canada and then the goal conceded in Honduras. How badly does he care to play for USA?

We all know Zardes weakness, but im pretty sure I'd bring him as the 3rd forward in October if he is healthy.

Yeah during the low moments tonight I was wishing for Zardss. I was even hoping they'd get Demarcus Beasley out of his rocking chair. They needed someone in that first half to settle them down and show them the way.

Didn't get to watch the first half as my daughter had a game and I don't speak Spanish.

But, Zardes has a lot of weaknesses, but he's a senior presence on a young team. He has a place on this cycle/world cup. Next World Cup, some u15 now is going to be our best player and lead us to the finals of the WC.

The two home games in the October window absolutely must be 6 pts

If you missed the first half and only watched the second, you're the lucky one. Butt ugly after the first five minutes or so. Would love to have heard what was said in the locker room at halftime, because they were a different team, and it wasn't just the subs and tactical stuff. Pulisic was awful in the first half, complexly different until he got hurt. We lost just about every fifty fifty ball in the first 45 and that turned arojnd, no clue how to attack that defense other then kick it forward and hope; that changed. Was a 180.

I think Pepi looked great and absolutely deserves to start the next round of WCQs. That said, I'm not about to crown him the official #9 that's gonna lead the line as the nailed on starter. He's 18 and he's played one match. Dude's got talent and looks the part. Needs to build on it. We said earlier this year that Dike should be the #9 going forward and then that Pefok should be the #9. Easy to forget that Sargent is only 21 as well. Hoppe also deserves a shout and nobody had heard of him until January. Lots of young guys that need to grow and develop and hopefully that competition is really going to push them to take their games to the next level for the USA.

We seen people really struggle to nail down that top spot basically since Altidore was the main guy. Hell we all thought Bobby Wood was gonna be it when he banged in back to back game winners against Holland and Germany in the span of 5 days.
