I blame the ref for letting the game get out of control. Sure looked like the Atletico player intentionally put his shoulder into the back of Foden's head in the 1st half.

I hate the way Atletico plays… but I also agree with what Jamie said after the game: Champions League needs a couple teams that play nasty like this. Soccer would be boring if all the teams played the same way.

And I'll add this: Despite my opinion, I think Atletico's 2nd half work-rate was admirable and it was a heck of a game to watch due to the intensity they showed. I think they deserved an equalizer… but I'm also not sad that they got the red card.

I had no dog in that particular fight but the game was fun as hell to watch. Athletico Madrid got after it in the second half.

The contrasting approach and styles made for awesome viewing as a fan of the game. Not sure I'd feel the same way if I was a Man City or Athletico supporter.
