I'm really curious to see how Leipzig line up today. The Raum transfer is finalized, and supposedly there's a reverse deal in the works to send Angelino to Hoffenheim. Kinda makes me sad cause I liked Angelino, but Raum will undoubtedly be better at defense. With the loss of Mukiele on the other side (to PSG), it makes me wonder if Tedesco is contemplating a switch to a back 4. We've got the personnel in place to pull off a pretty solid back 4 even before Raum shows up (Halstenburg and Klostermann as fullbacks).

I'm obviously hoping for a Leipzig win, and short of that I hope for a really good game that goes down the the wire… but if the game gets out of hand in Bayern's favor, a consolation prize would be seeing Tel come off the bench and get an early debut. I'm so intrigued by that signing.

Scoreline flatters Leipzig, I think. We're out of sorts with both starting wingbacks gone. Hope Raum is worth the trouble.

Good lord Bayern are rampant. 4-0 in 35' in a road opener against a legit team.

There's been some discussion that they'll be better off without Lewy eventually… but I think they might be better off already. So much speed and creativity in attack.

Crazy that there is the same amount of Bundesliga and EPL matches on tv today. And the Dortmund game is on ABC while the Chelsea game is on USA.

Not sure what to think. I guess I like it, but the team is in disarray right now with these big incoming transfers (without the outgoing transfers settled yet).

And we've already got plenty of strikers who can't find the back of the net.

Utterly dominated Stuttgart today but can't convert our chances and end up settling for a draw.

Signing two German internationals in Raum and Werner is a big step forward for the club, but it's also kinda disruptive. Hope it pays dividends once the dust settles.

You can dislike them, some will even hate them, but they’re showing balls and ambitions.

Where do you live and who's your team?

Bayern's fan club (FCBTX) has pretty much 3 chapters going strong. One in Houston, Austin, and Fort Worth. I live in Denton but go to the Fort Worth one a couple times. If you live in the area I'll be sure to go the weekend you go and we can have a beer. It's at Upper90 off of Magnolia.

It's only about 5-10 people that show up on a given Saturday morning, but it's a friendly crowd. My BIL was the Fort Worth chapter president until he moved to Nebraska earlier this year.

Haha I've attended several watch parties of FCBTX before in Houston and Austin! It was really fun to watch soccer games with people. The bar is even crowded when it is Der Klassiker. However, the problem is that bundesliga games are usually early in the morning and I'm living in College Station. I'm curious if there is any similar event in town.

What is going with Leverkusen

What a collapse by Dortmund! Was up 2-0 on Bremen and let up 3 goals in stoppage time (one in the 89' but you get the idea). Lost 3-2

Union beating Leipzig 2-0 at half. Leipzig doing nothing with their 77% possession.

Silver lining for me is that Pefok has scored again for Union.

You can change players and managers, but at the end of the day Dortmund is still Dortmund. Part of Bayern's dominance this past decade is because Dortmund just can't get out of their own way.

So clearly Lewa made Bayern a worse club lol - this has been a fun start to the season

All the German clubs have a good shot at getting into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Bayern has the toughest draw but we're also the strongest team
RB Leipzig has Real Madrid, but they also have Celtic and Shakthar. Two teams they can absolutely beat
Dortmund has City, Sevilla, and Copenhagen. It'll come down to Dortmund and Sevilla but that's a team they can beat as well.
Leverkusen has Porto, Club Brugge, and Atletico Madrid. That's a competitive group and anything can happen (although Leverkusen is in terrible form right now)
Frankfurt has Tottenham, Sporting Porto, and Marseille. That's a tough group especially with how Frankfurt is playing right now too. I think Tottenham and Marseille sneak out.

In other words, outside of Bayern, the other German clubs are in competitive groups or in groups with only one major power. I like 3 or 4 teams to get into the knockouts.

Leipzig is in terrible form too. I think they're far too talented to stay there, but if we're calling a spade a spade, right now Leipzig look like they'd have trouble with any team with a pulse.
