It's freaking unreal how bad this team gives games away. Dominated everything but shots on target.

Tedesco's days are numbered. Supposedly Marco Rose is the #1 target to replace him.

And that's how it shook out.

The timing couldn't be crazier, with Dortmund up next for Leipzig.

I would've been thrilled to get Rose last summer when Nagelsmann left, but now I'm not so sure.

Yeah that's rough. To be fair though, the Bundesliga is turned upside down right now. We got Union leading and haven't lost a game yet, Bayern's 5th, RB is 12th, and Leverkusen is in the relegation zone.

The only thing that's normal right now is Dortmund being 2nd.

I'd like to blame the wacky World Cup schedule… that maybe the teams with fewer established WC internationals are doing better right now. Guys trying to preserve their bodies, etc. Maybe I'm just scapegoating.

WC happening at the end of a season would mean players still stay focused because the points matter a lot more… or in the case of Bayern's typical dominance, they could afford to take their foot off the gas a bit after they've clinched.

What has gotten into Wolfsburg?! They are scoring goals at an alarming rate! Wow!

Well that was fun while it lasted.

The bigger story is Bayern's malaise… closely followed by Union Berlin's ability to stay near the top of the table. And Leipzig boast the best form in the league since hiring Rose. And if Dortmund win tomorrow there will be 4 teams within 3 pts of Bayern. Ought to be an exciting Rueckrunde!

Yes it will be!

This has been a good season so far in the Bundesliga. Unfortunately some poor form coming out of break for Bayern. Love the Cancelo loan, that back line is formidable now although Upa is in poor form (and has been all season actually). And Davies has been good but not his normal self.

I'm hoping the Pokal performance and Wolfsburg match righted the ship

3 way tie at the top with Bayern, Union, and Dortmund all having 43 points. Freiburg at 40 and Leipzig at 39.

What a great race we have in February! Big match on Sunday with Bayern vs Union

Last 35 mins drastically better - and Dortmund played way too conservatively… especially when the last 5 + 5 mins were played against a 10 man Leipzig (injury).

Game deserved to be a draw in my biased opinion. Kudos to the backup Dortmund keeper. Heck of a game from him.

I know Freiburg might jump Leipzig tomorrow, but it seems very clear that there are 4 elite teams this year, and then everybody else.

Bayern
Dortmund (who is on crazy form right now)
Union
RB Leipzig

Those 4 are far and away the best teams in the Bundesliga this year. And look at that, it's early March and there's still a title race! This is gonna make the next three months mighty fun

I think the GD numbers tell the real story, and we'll see a reversion to mean. Still a dozen games left for most of the league.

I feel like I need to post in here for Bayern UCL games. Doesn't seem like anyone gives a **** about non-EPL matches.

I expect that heartbreaker of a loss by Dortmund to Chelsea will deflate them over the next few weeks in league play

Seeing Mane healthy is scary AF.

Glad we've played y'all already, but y'all are about to run away with it down the stretch.

I'm hoping for 2nd. And I'm hoping we can start next year strong for once. Two years in a row of a mid table coach sacking makes it impossible to finish first.

Packmas!

Great match played and De Ligt is absolutely man of the match for that goal line clearance in the 1st! Not gonna lie, with the way that PSG played in the second half of the first leg I felt they were going to counter us to death. Great game plan by Nagelsman and moving on to the final 8. Undefeated or so far in Champion's League play so far with probably the toughest draw yet being in a group with Inter & Barca and drawing PSG in the first round of knockouts.

Are you a wizard?

I suppose it was a derby match on the road, but still… Schalke is trash.

It's been Dortmund's MO over the past 6-7 seasons it seems. They're always such a young team, that a deflationary moment like that (especially with their star player acting like a baby) was bound to have an affect on their demeanor and playing ability.

It's happened every year right around this part of the calendar and that's when Bayern widens their lead until Dortmund finally turns it around after 2-3 match weeks. But by that point in time, they'll be 6-9 points behind going into Der Klassiker where they probably lose to ensure another Bayern title.

This year might be different if Terzic can keep it from happening. And Bayern doesn't seem immune to having lapses this year either compared to years past and there's pressure from another contender unlike years past (Union) which might help Dortmund's focus a bit. But even Klopp couldn't keep it from happening. It's just something built into their DNA it seems like for the past 10 years. Self-fulfilling prophecy similar to BAS.

I hope you're right. I think Leipzig can catch 'em if the slump continues.

And I'll be honest - as much as I want someone else besides Bayern to win, they're still far and away the best team overall (and the GD shows it). I want there to be a deserving contender and Dortmund and Leipzig still aren't there.

It happened. Becoming a fan of soccer has made me a better human being. I care less about stuff like this - in all sports now.

I care more about right outcomes now. It was never in the cards for Leipzig to beat City, especially after actually daring to be better than a KdB-less version of them for a half in the first leg. It'd be one thing to have gotten a lucky draw that first game… it's quite another to have gotten a deserved draw. That brought the thunder.

My goal remains: 2nd in the league and let's actually start a season strong for once next year. And continue kicking butt in the transfer market. Someday it will pay dividends and we will belong in games like this.
