Stuart Holden was a good player that constantly got bit by the injury bug. Grew up in Sugar Land/Houston and ended up walking on at Clemson. Got beat up in his first stint in England outside of Newcastle and returned to the MLS where he spent some pretty good season with the Dynamo (won a couple championships). Got another chance in England with Bolton and was a pretty solid Premier League player. But again, injuries. Only suited up for the USMNT like 25 times and the only World Cup he was able to play in was 2010 where Nigel De Jong broke his leg months before the tournament. He was on of the best players at the 2013 Gold Cup but tore his ACL in the final. The kid could play,

What is there to discuss? Every player on that team took part in absolutely ****ting the bed during the Hex. Sure Jurgen was a mess and Arena did nothing to fix it but in the end the players played horribly for a large part of that Hex. They all should wear scarlet L's. And it wasn't just T&T. The whole Hex was a mess.

We're some of them great players for the MNT over the years? Absolutely. But when they had to win they **** the bed.

The good thing that came out was that the vast majority of them moved on and didn't try and hang on for an extra cycle.

I don't have a huge problem with your take, heck I'll even join you in hating that collective group posing as a team, but the product on the field was a long time coming. Between Jurgen and his struggles with US Soccer to Arena inheriting a shlt show, the results in 2018 were birthed years earlier.

I don't have any specific player I hate, however there are several that made/make me angry when they were on the pitch bc I didn't think they deserved it or were nearly as good as some thought. Jozy is up there. Zardes and Beasley bc I always felt like they were overwhelmed on the big stages.

If anyone, Landon, but not bc of what he did on the National Team. But more that he seemingly was ok being a big fish in a small pond and never truly tried to test himself with the biggest clubs.

I dislike seeing certain players on a roster or on the field mostly because this board will be filled with negative comments about them no matter how well they play or how they contribute.

I can't really place the blame on any player for the WCQ18 debacle.

But I'm probably most frustrated with Bobby Wood. I definitely got caught up on the "let's play a guy who starts in the Bundesliga" fervor… but it turns out Hamburg were relegation trash and he wasn't any good.

This is pretty much where I'm at. Lots of people who I often gave "oh no, not this guy again" treatment but I didn't really hate them.

Hejduk was probably the most egregious example of this. So many people loved him for try hard vibes but my god he was used well beyond his sell by date.
