This is pretty much where I'm at. Lots of people who I often gave "oh no, not this guy again" treatment but I didn't really hate them.

Hejduk was probably the most egregious example of this. So many people loved him for try hard vibes but my god he was used well beyond his sell by date.

Yup but still love that he went in front of the Mex fans kissing the badge. I never questioned his love for the crest although sometimes his play left more to be desired.

I didn't follow soccer well back then, but I've read from lots of folks that prime Michael Bradley was outstanding. I only really paid attention to late-career Bradley who seemed to just pass backwards all the time (and as someone else mentioned, he was being asked to play in a way that didn't suit him).

I think most of the angst against him revolves around the notion that based on his family, he was perhaps kept in the team longer than he should've been.

Even though I think he was overrated, I can't really vote for Landon. My real answer is probably Agoos.

But Landon deserves every amount of hate he got for that Wells Fargo ad.

I think you're 100% spot on and I'm the one who mentioned playing him out of position.

He started for Roma and was a very good player for them. Hell he was the best player on our roster for awhile!

I initially thought his name is what got him his position in the team until I watched him play a few times.

I'll never question how much he loved wearing the jersey and overall he represented it very well, but that 2018 run didn't help the reputation of anyone associated with the team and he was the poster child for it IMO

Lots of TexAgs most hated players part of that shoot.

Totally agree on landon being overrated. He was good for the US and had a some clutch goals but he also vanished from a lot of games.

Just watching the highlights of this match.....

Funny, if this one goes in, he's the all time leading goal scorer and gets another WC.



But also if he passes it to Pulisic he probably scores too.
