I think France has more firepower but nobody in the tournament moves the ball like Argentina does. Assuming France advances it would be a great final.

Messi could potentially be the first player to win the Golden Ball at two World Cups.

Rodrigo De Paul is heavily underrated and he's the one player that can suffocate France's midfield.

Messi was better today, and is a better all-time player, but I really like Modric. Got a chance to see him play in person when Croatia played Mexico at Jerryworld before the 2018 WC. While the game itself wasn't fantastic, it was a hell of an atmosphere and an experience I'll never forget.

Anyone watched "Captains" on Netflix? Just started it and wondering what others think of it?

I think the 2014 Argentina team is the most low key world cup final team of all time.

They made it with Messi at his absolute Barcelona peak and at least 4 or 5 other worldclass players.

Their trip to the final was made completely overshadowed by Germany's 7-1 win. And it feels like Germany won the title match 4-1 or something because of Germany's perceived dominance. But really they only won 1-0 in extra time.

The weird thing about Messi being in the final is that he's been there before and no one seems to care or talk about it.

I hadn't heard of it till this post so thanks for mentioning it. Looks interesting!

The 2014 Argentina team was phenomenal and I recall them having better chances than Germany in the final. They also played that final without Angel Di Maria, who was injured in the semi final, and up until that point was the best winger in the world.

Freaking Higuain missing everything that day

I'm not sure why I bother watching sports. I loved that 2014 WC but barely remember anything about it.

These highlights make it seem like Argentina had more chances. Can't believe Higuain fanned on that sitter.

yes it was, and we all thought he was going to be the next German super star. sad he had all of those injuries and illness they could not figure out for so long.

also, at that time Neuer was a dominant force as a sweeper keeper. players went to jelly in the knees running at him 1 on 1. Higuain wasn't the first and wasn't the last to panic and shoot to early against Neuer.

So I think Morocco's fairy tale comes to end rather abruptly in this match. 3-1 France
