Jeremy Lin is Tim Tebow of basketball, once teams have seen that he is not a very good shooter, they are going to go under the pick n roll, and the whole fad is going to be over, he just caught teams off guard, like Tim Tebow did during the season, and next season Denver won't make playoffs, its like the wildcat, it was effective until teams had seen it on tape and prepared for it.

Lin isn't 28 and 8 good but he's not tebow. He has decent court vision and is strong enough to finish really well in the paint

Tebow led an extremely anemic offense, paired with a very good defense.

Tebow was a "hero" before he ever played.

Lin actually makes the players around him better. All of them. Lin was not a hero before he started performing. And the Lakers thought they would go under the screen every time. It didn't work.

Basketball, it seems, is still a team-based sport where teams that play well together and are unselfish can win against other teams with more "talent."

I had heard about Lin when he was at Harvard. Then I saw this from the summer league couple summers ago:

I really hoped the Mavs would find a spot for him but I guess we were still counting on the emergence of roddy b. Lin for the win baby!

I laugh whenever I see somebody conclude "well, he isn't a very good shooter". Like that is the end of conversation.

Lin is decent size, quick, and skillful. His shot isn't great and yet he's still putting up points. Something is working.

Just look a Jason Kidd. He was one of worst shooters in NBA for years. But he worked hard and developed a pretty good shot. Coupled with his other skills, he became a Hall of Famer.

Lin is smart and willing to work. Would you bet that he can't improve his jumper?

He is 6'3", extremely athletic, and has good creativity with the ball.

He is turnover prone and lacks a consistent jump shot.

He gets to the line a lot and gets a lot of steals and blocks for his position.

Long term, he's not a 25-8 type guy obviously. But, when Amare and Melo return, he doesn't need to be. He just needs to be the guy that runs that offense and gets the ball movement going and creates easy shots. They need the ball out of Melo's hands more because he's such a ball stopper.

Basically. He runs the pick-and-roll really well and that's where he'll make his living. Amare and Chandler are perfect fits with Lin. Not sure how things will be with Carmelo. Dude is a black hole on offense.

Agree that the Knicks could get the D'Antoni offense working pretty well without even needing Melo. They probably should ship him to a desperate team like Orlando.

Actually, I just changed my mind. Melo was one of the better Olympics players at playing cohesively with a bunch of superstars. He actually is pretty good at playing off the ball.

haha Lin nails a three with .5 seconds left to go up three against Raptors. This guy is something else, even if he is a turnover machine.

He literally just took over the 4th quarter and won the game. I've havent seen someone take over the city in basketball since melo arrived and had a huge first few games

8 turnovers...but he adds 11 assists and 27 points to go with it. Plus a game winning trey. No matter what happens in the future, Lin has put 6 Ws on the board for the Knicks. I think he can safely be labeled a success story.

Just to think he was sleeping on his brother's couch at night a little over a week ago. This dude has caused MSG TV ratings to go up by 70% for Knicks games, and he could probably live in the Trump Tower penthouse right now.

It makes sense. He can do more with the ball without Melo and Amare on the court. He would be a huge spark to one of the worst benches in the league. It would be a Manu type role.
