find me the post where i stated KG was a better player than duncan. Never said that.

Am I missing something?

Garnet was fouling all over Dirk on that play too, lol. That was a fun one.

I don't hate KG though honestly. I never considered him a rival worth hating. The Mavs would stick it to the Timberwolves every year in the playoffs. And since he went to the Celtics he's never faced the Mavs in the Finals, but if he did I wouldn't consider him the alpha dog worth hating on anyhow.

If I live to be a thousand years old, I will never understand the hate for Bruce Bowen. The dude is a hero as far as I am concerned. Overcame the worst of life circumstances and marginal basketball skills to become a selfless, determined, smart, hard working player, and regularly gives to those in need. This country needs more Bruce Bowens.

hes one of the dirtiest players to ever play. He actually tried actively to get opposing players hurt

You know the NBA has become a league for ******* when morons start believing that crap. He played very, very tight and aggressive defense (as everyone should). Sometimes, that means some NBA diva comes down on his foot and whines that Bruce is trying to turn hIs ankle. It's absurd.

Hey actually kicked a dude in the face and tried to step on Amare's Achilles heel as he went by. Dirty.

One other thing... If you think he played too aggressively, fine. I disagree, but fine. But the idea that he intentionally tried to injure other players is mind-boggingly absurd. Bruce is the kind of guy to whom it would never occur to intentionally injure someone. He was a working man in a league of divas, and that caused him to be disliked.

You people are nuts. I've seen a the videos you've seen, and the claims that those are intentional attempts to injure are insane.

Bruce was extremely dirty. But that's what the Spurs needed.

This some Stan **** right here. If you like him, that's fine. But if you've really convinced yourself that Bowen wasn't a dirty player, then there's nothing we can tell you.

Bowen was very effective because he pushed the boundaries of what was possible on defense... he stayed very, very close and was very active with his hands and feet. It was disruptive and frustrating to offensive players, and sometimes it meant collisions or tangled feet. He wasn't trying to kick Wally Sczerbiac in the face, but he was trying to distract him by flying by inches away. He wasn't trying to sprain jumpshooters' ankles, but he was trying to be so close they were distracted by the thought of spraining their ankles. Sometimes he got too close and it looked like he was trying to hurt someone... that was the downside of playing on the edge like he did.

Maybe some people think there is a limit to how tight defense should be played (obviously there are based on all the rules that favor offensive players) and that Bowen was past that limit, but I don't believe he was trying to hurt people. He never nutpunched anyone like Jason Terry or threw a forearm shiver like Andrew Bynum. Those are the kind of plays I consider dirty.

Yep, those plays were dirty. More overt, but not dissimilar to sliding your feet under jump shooters so they come down and sprain their ankles. A Bowen staple that you conveniently explain as "tight defense".

Terry and Bynum lost their cool when they got angry (Terry once, Bynum twice). Bowen made dirty tactics his game. How you can think two of those guys are dirty and one isn't, especially when the one was more frequent and overall a dirtier player, is either flawed logic or devout homerism.

I have no earthly idea how some of you guys can watch the clips in question and somehow manage to divine Bruce intent. You should go to Vegas with your paranormal abilities.

Given the kind of man Bruce Bowen is, the account given by Ulrich is far, far more reasonable.

Closeouts are notoriously tough to time without getting into the shooter, especially when half the shooters in the league are trying to get hit. Again, Bowen pushed himself to the limit but is an unlikely guy to actually try to injure people.

If you want to play the game where we impart motives to posters based on their opinions, I could just as easily say that those who think Bowen was dirty are Spurs haters or just mad because Bowen shut down their favorite player.

Look, Bruce made some dirty plays. This on top of playing on your rivals team and helping the Spurs win Championships are why people hate Bruce. I understand that.

But anyone would be kidding themselves if they wouldn't of wanted him on their team. The dude was a basketball player.

Truth. Bruce Bowen played a much larger role in those 3 championships than people give him credit for. The best defensive player in the league for most of the decade.

We get it, you're a homer. No point in discussing the issue anymore.

Jason Terry is an altruistic icon of the community as well. Doesn't seem to count for much of anything.

Bowen was a dirty player, meticulously so at that.

I've been rooting for the Rockets since the amazing 1986 Western Conference Finals against the Lakers. They are my favorite NBA team. But I root for all of the Texas NBA teams, including the Spurs.

Some Rockets and Mavs fans are so blinded by their hatred of the Spurs that they can't see the obvious about Bowen. Bowen gets called dirty for the same reason that Stockton and Rodman were called dirty - because they were hard working, tough, blue collar players playing in a league full of Divas.

Im sorry but no "huge" rockets fan can EVER root for the spurs and Rodman was a dirty player. The guy kicked a camera man in the junk
