I would think that if the Rox have to pay this guys contract, that the trade should just be rescinded and Houston should get their euro-guy back...

The euro-guy was the cost of avoiding a lengthy lawsuit. Its clear that White had no intentions to ever play basketball and he was just working up a scenario where he could sue the rockets for termination due to disability.

The rockets realized this was happening and probably made an under the table deal with Sam Hinkie so that the 76ers could essentially cut him for the Rockets.
