Edit: just saw this quote in the other thread too. Oh well, the point still stands. I'm glad we have about 10 other guys who can play the "asset" position (PF) for the Rockets.

Oh the irony!

We just went down to the wire with the defending NBA champs at home without this little sh**. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. At some point the Rockets have to admit they effed up drafting this kid. You are not gonna be able to cater to him for his whole career.

Don't get me wrong he is a talented player who could be something special minus the anxiety issues but I don't like his attitude towards the Rockets and I don't see this going anywhere good.

This bum has played literally zero NBA minutes and is already skipping practice/games and making demands and referring to himself as a commodity.

Phil Jackson made demands and he couldn't even get his old job back and that guy has enough rings to cover both hands.

How could you not include Eddie Griffin on that list?

1. I always liked Eddie Griffin. I always liked that trade too. It's easy to pick it apart in retrospect, but he was a legit talent. He had the talent to be the top player taken in that draft. Could hit the three ball and a threat to block two or three shots a game. How rare is that? I would make that trade again considering the roster make-up in 2001.

2. He also played significant minutes as a rookie. Which brings me to this Royce White thing. I think we'll all agree that Eddie Griffin had some very, very serious mental/emotional issues and that dude still started 20-plus games his first year. Not to poke too many holes in Royce White's disorder because I don't think anyone really knows the severity of it, but Eddie Griffin had some pretty real demons and he still showed up as a rookie. I just remember him being really quiet. It all caught up to him in the end, but he never made demands from the organization the way White has while, just to reiterate, having played ZERO minutes.


Eddie Griffin didn't work out due to some very serious reasons, obviously. The other guys on my list were missing games or wanting out because of a number of reasons far less serious than the alcoholism and instability that ended up with Griffin killing himself. V-Span, Pippen and Ariza just didn't want to be here despite taking the money. And McGrady just sucks cock.

@Highway_30: I'm not PLANNING to quit, but if its between my HEALTH and BASKETBALL, health takes precedence. You should never choose ANYTHING over it.

How did this guy make it through playing at Iowa State? I admit, I haven't paid as much attention to college basketball in the past few years, so I really didn't know anything about him until the Rockets drafted him. Was he like this in college? How did Iowa State get him to show up to practice and get on a plane? Why can't the Rockets just do the same thing? I understand if they want to give him some slack because of his mental illness, but this is getting to be ridiculous.
