‘Olajuwon Over Duncan Hands Down’ (at the 10 minute mark)

While Duncan has had the better overall career (especially when you factor in longevity), Horry expresses what I think most GMs would agree with (and who they'd pick if they were starting a team with one of those two players).

Hakeem was certainly more exciting to watch. He also used David Robinson as his personal jizz rag.

Sorry, but no. Tim Duncan is best player of his generation (yes, better than Kobe) and is hands down better than Olajuwon. Numbers back it up, and championships back it up. That's great that Rob thinks so, but most NBA people, who consider Duncan to be the greatest PF of all time, would say Duncan wins hands down.

I have a feeling people's answer will be based on which team they root for.

Olajuwon was better at his peak

Duncan has the better overall career

It's close. You really can't be wrong either way.

Yeah, I'd like to have that problem of "which would I take". Both great. Duncan will always have the intangibles of longevity and unselfish team leadership for me, but I'm not up in arms with anybody that chooses Olajuwon. It's been a pleasure to watch those two guys lead two Texas based teams to multiple titles!

Would love to hear Horrys ranking of Shaq and Kobe as well. How many guys like Horry have won titles and spent multiple years with 4 of the top 15 all-time players?

IMO
Kobe >Hakeem>Duncan>Shaq

Kobe is better than Duncan. You're a ****ing idiot. Duncan has had some **** seasons the last 5 years.

Olajuwon career numbers 21.8ppg, 11.1rbg, 3.1bpg

Duncan career numbers 20.2ppg, 11.2rbg, 2.2bpg

Olajuwon's playoff numbers are better

Duncan is a great player. No doubt a hall of famer. But he is nowhere near Kobe's level. And comparing him to Kobe, Dream and Shaq in their primes, Duncan is 4th on that list

Duncan's longevity is a huge misconception. Olajuwon started breaking down in his 14th season as did Duncan with career low numbers.

Umm, Duncan just got first team All-NBA in his 16th season.

It should be noted that every year around this time Horry comes out and says this, it's nothing new.

Why? Because we said that Kobe and Dream are better than Duncan?

Duncan is higher in the pantheon than Bryant, although I admit that it's a legit argument. I didn't see Olajuwon enough to have an opinion.

Shaq > Kobe > Duncan

Can't include Hakeem. Too young during his playing days to remember much.

Why does anyone care?

The only way to actually settle it is to make them both go head-to-head in their prime...

That will never happen...

Duncan is a popular choice over Bryant at the moment.

For their careers, Bryant averaged 5.5 more points and 1.8 more assists, Duncan averaged 6 more rebounds and 5% better from the field. Duncan had more MVPs, more finals MVPs, and more rings as the best player on his team, all in one less season as a pro (and after spending 4 years in college). Duncan was a better defender and served as the anchor of the team rather than another obstacle for the front office to deal with. Duncan has a better career winning percentage and his teams have never missed the playoffs or won less than 50 games (aside from the lockout year).

We've been over this many times. Hakeem didn't even lead his team to the Playoffs every year. He had a great 2 year period, but Duncan has sustained excellence much longer. Duncan won more titles.

Stick to comparing Hakeem to Robinson. You have a much better argument.

Simmons and a lot of the media are claiming Duncan to be the best player of this generation over Shaq and Kobe.

Hakeem will be behind Duncan on any all-time best lists when it's all said and done.
lol ignore Horry who played with both and is a revered all time great role player but take it to the bank what the bandwagon media and Laker hating Simmons say

Listen, I understand as a Spurs fan y'all will pick Duncan over Kobe. Same reason I pick Dream over Duncan.

But as a Rockets fan with zero ties to LA or SA, Kobe is the clear winner every time. He is the closest player we've ever seen to Jordan. His ability to take over a game is unmatched by anyone else in his time

Horry is better than all of them because he has more ringz.
